Tory,

I'm impressed that you can count laps and think at the same time!! I swam 2000

yards this morning with just a couple little breaks and was more amazed that I

didn't lose count than at the distance. Have fun at your tri!! Is it the 'my

first tri' series at Chelan?

Swimming ROCKS!

Okay as you know, if you read my silly little posts, I've really struggled

with the swimming. My first triathlon is Sunday and I am completely nervous.

Anyhow, this morning I went for my last " official " swim (although I'll take

a few laps Saturday night in the lake we're swimming in Sunday just to feel

confident).

I've been doing " gratitude swims. " I know it sounds corny, but it was an

idea that I got from a friend of mine. She said that the week before

Thanksgiving she always thinks of one thing she is grateful for on each

length of her swim. So I've been doing that. I pray for someone or am

thankful for someone or something on each length.

What a good idea, Tory! I might start doing that on my walks--having walked

the same road for 18 years now, anad always winding up in the same place!, I

am in need of inspiration.

Congrats on your swim length. let us know when your tri starts so we can be

thinking of you and sending good vibes your way!

Very inspirational! I am impressed that you are combining something that is

good for your body, with something that is good for your " spirit " and mind.

I have always searched for people that have an attitude of gratitude, and

this is one of the best examples yet. I have a small swimming pool, 15 ft

across and 42 inches deep, but I try to " lap " around anyway. In other

words, One time around is one lap. Now I will add another dimension by

coming up with things I am grateful for. The first thing I will be grateful

for? You, and your inspiration. I'll be corny right along with you and may

the world join in!
