Guest guest
I screwed up on day 4--I went to my parents for supper and had a baked potato, frozen corn on the cob, apple crisp for desert---I was so mad!!! I got " tom " this am so I think that had something to do with my weakness.(I was so tired) But, I'm jumping right back on this am. Without this list to motivate me, it might have been another two weeks. So I'm still at the same 185#. We are going on a trip in January and I just got our airline tickets today and I want to lose weight before the trip so I can actually wear my summer clothes. And I know how fast january will get here so I really need to get my butt in gear. Thanks. Fay 185/185/
Guest guest
But at least you are a size 12. I can not get in to a size 12 so you are in better shape from all of your exercising. Keep it up girl Norma

Guest guest
Topper: You were heavier when you were REALLY badly hypo compared to now... Right? I am one who has under-eaten my whole life. I would eat if you made me a nice meal and put it in front of me...but I was never a "craver." I used to pass out all the time when I was a kid. I WAS so skinny..(the skinniest kid) I couldn't buy clothes that fit. Even as an adult, I had to shop for size 0 at Petite Sophisticate. THAT's even after working out like mad with wieghts to bulk up! When I gained the hypo weight (just 10-15 pounds) my Ma says I finally look good!! She just wonders why I have a fat tummy....Grrrr. ~E:) TOTAL-Thyroidectomy 26 months post-op. Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less. Guest guest
I found out mine was high about a month ago. I already feel a little better and I haven't been on the Cytomel. My main complaint was fatigue and migraines almost daily. I am feeling good enough just by taking Armour and eating tons of fiber (doc said this would help) as well as all the vitamins doc had me start. I am thrilled to be feeling better and I am even working out, but went back for the monthly check up and I told her about the Cytomel. She said she used to have people do the Cytomel, but that they complained about taking it at different times throughout the day. I am very happy to be feeling better, but would love to lose weight too. THanks for your response. Robyn This might be shallow, but has anyone else lost weight when taking the Cytomel for Reverse T3? I start tomorrow. I have gained 30 lbs this past year and a half. I want to feel better, but have to admit, I would LOVE to lose some of this weight. Guest guest
Robyn, I have been on T3 only for probably close to 20 weeks...I've lost count now. I have also gained 30+ pounds over the last year. I haven't been able to get to an optimal dosage of T3 yet because of ferritin and adrenal issues, so not sure yet if the weight will come off or not. I did recently changed my eating to a high saturated fat, high protein, low carb (between 70-80/day) diet, and did finally stop gaining weight. I actually lost a few pounds, but nothing significant. My thoughts are that once I'm healthy I should be able to start exercising again and hopefully then the weight will come off. I know it's frustrating...believe me...someone asked me when I was due the other day. Ugh!!! I definitely do not look pregnant, but this person had not seen me since my 30 lb weight gain. I have gone from a size 6 to a size 10/12. I was extremely active running over 30 miles every week and I raced triathlons before getting sick. So having no muscle tone and all the extra weight is very frustrating. Just have some patience. I have read some success stories on this forum where people were able to easily lose weight once on the optimum level of T3. --Steph > > This might be shallow, but has anyone else lost weight when taking the Cytomel for Reverse T3? Guest guest
I have begun losing weight. FINALLY. I not only had RT3 issues but I recently learned I have Mycoplasma Pneumonea. THIS si what has caused my symptoms I was beginning to worry about being Cyclical Cushings for years! I get the infeciton activated adn my coritls goes high to fight it, thne it gets better or I take BA's and the high cortiosl symptoms go away. But I was never taking ENOUGH of the right antibiotics to get RID of this so it kept coming back. I suspect I have had it for 15 years. I also think it is what wrecked my adnreals along with stress of being so hypo 15 years ago. At any rate wiht the Biaxin I am tkaing now, my glucose is HUGELY improved to the point I am takign abitou 1/8th the insulin I was on a year ago! And lower insulin and insulin resistance and lwoered cortils is allowing me ot FINALLY lose some weight. I dropped 10 pounds since I have been on Biaxin. SO getting theyroid right si what it takes for MOST people but if it doesn;t work then do not stop looking for other problems! -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
Nick's weight went up when Armour reformulated, and down after RT3 clearance. From his post: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/41113 Reading through the posts, I have to say it doesn't go down for everyone, though. I also think some will see immediate results, but for others it takes longer. I feel that's because there are often many factors to this, see Val's post: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/43216 > > > > I don't think it's shallow. Thyroid controls metabolism and metabolism controls weight. I think it's a marker for metabolic well-being. I initially lost weight on Armour, then gained it all back and then some, despite following exactly the same diet. That was one of the symptoms of RT3 building up. > > >
