I am truly doing the happy dance tonight..... I lost 8 pounds this week! Woo-hoo! I was weekly best loser got the money in the fruit basket as well as November best loser.

I journaled all my food

Drank over 64 oz water a day

Encouraged my Tops "victim" (who lost after Thanksgiving)

Challenged my partner and accomplished my challenge.

Thanks Randie! I felt I had lost, just not that much!! It is unbelievable! I'm pretty sure my 3 pound gain last week was fluid, so I got that off plus some more. Just hope I can keep it off and make my year end mini goal of losing 60 pounds.

Yes I do feel better Peggy. My eyes still burn a bit but are not all swollen like someone socked me in the eyes! Thanks, girlfriend!

8 pounds in 1 week!! - you deserve to be on the biggest loser show... I have never lost more than 2 pound in one week ever (even when I was losing to goal) - I don't know how to lose that much??? Are you eating a certain combination of foods that helps this to happen? I walk 21 to 28 miles and go to the gym and exercise additional on top of that... watch what I eat but my body just stays the same. Any tips to share? Judy MBeth wrote: Great going!! Hi Judy,

I was shocked when I lost 8 pounds! That's not normal! I don't do odd ball stuff to lose weight. Last April I found out I am diabetic. I decided that day to do whatever it takes to lose all this weight and get healthy. I use the diabetic exchange diet...very similar to the choice is mine exchange. I have no magic combination of foods. My doctor wants me to stay with 1200 calories and 150 carbs a day. Sometimes I'm under sometimes a little over but pretty close. I have eliminated (for the time being) all sweets, junk food (chips etc,) white potatoes, white rice white bread. I do eat whole wheat products and corn tortillas. I eat a lot of fruit and many more veggies than I used to eat. I don't drink any sodas (not even diet) I don't like the after taste. As I get closer to my goal I will add foods I have eliminated right now. I started exercising and have increased my walking as time has gone on. Judy, I have ALOT to lose...people who have as much as me usually lose faster at first than those who have less to lose. I just rejoined Tops last April, so I think my body is still in the honeymoon faze of dieting! LOL

How long have you been a KOPS? You are to be saluted for maintaining your Kops status. I know it is not easy to do.

Randie~thanks! I've had several Tops members tell me the same thing happened to them also! The "mixture" was to salty for sure.....what a moving experience! LOL Plus I drank a lot of chicken broth for my liquid diet! I sure want to make my mini year end goal.

I'm glad you had such a good loss this week. Keep up the good work!

~ A few of my chapter members who had colonoscopys had gains afterwards !!!! So it happens to others ~ maybe the sodium in the mixture you have to drink ????!!!!!!!! I know you'd think you'd lose after 'the experience' you have !!!! But you will do better this coming week !!!!! THINK POSITIVE !!!!! After the SUPER loss last week, your body may just be 'readjusting' itself !!!! Hugs, Randie

Sorry to say I gained 2 1/2 pounds. Sorry team mates! I just can't seem to keep these dang pounds off to make that mini goal of mine. I thought for sure I would lose after prepping for my colonoscopy and not having much but liquids. I did drink all my water, journal my food, I didn't accomplish my hurdles this week, I contacted my Tops pal, challenged my partner, danced at our chapter Christmas party (photos to follow) only walked 3 miles due to cramping and the advice of my doctor. Sorry Six Maids A-Slimmin' I didn't hold up my part of the team challenge.
