Guest guest
I think they have been. Note to self: don't let innards have Internet access. I also like the carbonated waters and flavored seltzers. I have entirely given up on soda both diet and regular and feel a lot better on that front. Sadly I while eating out got glutened on something in a potato. I am still trying to fully recover from that. I hate eating out. I used to love it. Meggars >>Maybe your innards and my innards have been web chatting late at night when we're sleeping. Maybe my ornery innards have been giving your innards lessons on how to be extra ornery. I can handle one 12 oz can of soda MAXIMUM about every other day. Beyond that, I'm toast. I can't take aspartame at all because of neurological complications. I avoid the full sugar ones because of diabetes. So, that leaves me with the Splenda ones if I want a soda pop at all. I can take one can and nurse it for the whole afternoon. And MAYBE, just maybe, my innards will be kind to me. It's almost become not worth it to me to have a soda pop. I do still like flavored seltzers, though. I buy those a lot. I can drink those with aplomb. So, it's not the carbonation that makes my innards ornery. It's something else. I'd suggest it may also be the caramel coloring that could bother you if it's the colas that bug you. But I don't think diet Sprite has any caramel color. I'm betting your innards have been taking lessons from my Ornery Innards. Sorry. I'll tell my ornery innards to stop giving advice or to at least charge for it so I can make a living. {:-) (Devil's horns)

Guest guest
Hey, I'm new to the group and noticed this thread on splenda and thought I'd contribute- Splenda is derived from sugar cane. Sugar cane is a direct relative of wheat - many, many celiacs and gluten intolerant folks have problems with sugar resulting in similar symptoms as if having eaten gluten. I've found myself to have the same pain, bloating and cramping with the exception that it doesn't last quite as long as having eating gluten itself. I highly recommend instead of splenda or artificial sweeteners, try fructose. Its safe for diebetics & kids with autism and it's all natural. As a matter of fact, it's what diebetics have used for 70+ years until the artificial stuff came along. There is a new website out there that has detailed information on everything celiac and gluten free & they are supported by the juvenial diebeties research fund and I believe they also are involved with an autism foundation. http://www.glutenfreeworks.com They also have a store section and the prices are better then gluten solutions and some of the other online gluten free stores out there. I hope you find this source as helpful as I have. Take care of all of you -Joanna __________________________________________________ --- Laurie Bilyeu wrote: > Esther, I can always count on you to crack me up! > > > > But my own tummy pain has gone away in the last couple weeks-I've eliminated > both coffee and Splenda. Guest guest
I’ll go look this up as well, but what’s the difference between fructose and high fructose corn syrup (which is a dietary poison)? Thanks for the resource Joanna. Laurie lbilyeu@... From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ] On Behalf Of Joanna Sent: Monday, May 08, 2006 11:07 AM To: SillyYaks Subject: RE: Re: Splenda?
