I do Yoga. The more you do Yoga, obviously, the more flexible your muscles get

- the more flexible your muscles, the less pressure on your joints. I have found

that the more flexible I am, my joints don't dislocate nearly as much. When your

muscles are tight, you can only extend them so far and they stop, causing the

joint to pop out.

You can practice Yoga to help you relax, feel more rested, invigorated, and

build strength. It also helps to deal with stress and a number of other things.

It just depends on what type of Yoga you do. Of course, you will need to modify

many of the poses.

Good questions. There are several different types or styles of

Yoga. Some are relatively gentle and others are downright brutal.

And there is no blanket " do it or don't do it " for people with EDS.

There is such a wide variability from very mild to very severe that

it all depends on the individual as to what their body can tolerate

and what would help versus what would harm. The real issue is

knowing what your body can handle and to always start carefully and

slowly if you decide to try any form of exercise, whether it is

Yoga, Jogging, or Strength training. And don't let anybody either

talk you into or push you into doing anything that you feel puts

your joints at risk.
