Guest guest
Well Grayson developed a very bad sore patch that is quite large our dr said he thinks it looks like a bad alergic reaction he said to the foam in his starband maybe, I said well this is his second helmet he has been in one everday for over 22 wks, we have had the newest one 3 weeks. He gave me cream to put on it that he said would heal it quickly so we can resume wearing the helmet. If this is the case has anyone heard of anything that can be put between the helmet & skin? The doctor said an alergy can develope over time & exposure to something so it may not show up until long after. In my gut I think the helmet is a bad shape at the bottom where it meets the neck yesterday our tecq heated it with a blow torch & tryed to pull it out more & cut away what she could of course I have to wait to try it until his head heals but I think that & a very hot day just caused a bad irritation or at least that is what I am hoping. thanks for reading. Guest guest
I have heard of an allergic reaction to starband... though very rare. And it seemed to happen immediatley. If it's just one spot I'd say it's just a pressure spot... After the spot heals and you put the band back on it may need to be adjust a bit to fit again.. there will be growth while the band is off. :et us know how it goes! Guest guest
My son had some neck irritation at the start but it went away. We also had a slight heat rash the first week. We were told by Cranial Tech to buy less that 1% cortizone cream and used that and it worked great. We stopped using it after a few days when it healed up because all these creams for allergies are steriods and you dont want to use them too often on the kids. Good luck and keep pushing if it is ill fitting, request a new one to be made. Guest guest
my son had some senstive areas to his helmet. Our doctor suggested moleskin for those areas. He puts new moleskin in at each visit. He also gives me some to replace in that area so that there is new moleskin there every week. I am not sure if this will help you but its worth a try.
