Hi Becky, The best woman is me and I will win. I am not a loser. I remember one time when I was taking chemo, my oncologist had me on Atavan. He thought it was best that I take it before my treatments. Our insurance (a different company, not BC/BS) denied payment for the prescription one month. I got on the phone to find out why. The customer service person told me that our insurance did not pay for meds for mental health issues. When I finished my little speech about not having a mental health problem, she approved the meds. At first she told me my doctor would have to send them a letter. By the time I was finished, no letter or any documentation was required. I never had another problem with prescriptions or any of my claims. hugs Eunice
Guest guest
If this wasn't so funny, I would cry and I might end up doing that anyway. I went Anthem to get refills on my meds. Since I had not ordered online prior, I had to submit address, charge card, etc. I filled in all the information. It will not be accepted because they require the expiration date of the card to be entered as mm/dd/yy. I have used a lot of charge cards over the years and I have never had one to give me an expiration date with all this information. All that is on the card is the month/year of expiration. hugs Eunice - if you hear someone screaming today it will be me.
Guest guest
I'm a Mason. One of the things we used to do every December was contact all the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hosptial patients and former patients in the area and have a Christmas party for them. We can't do that any more because the SCCH can't give out patient contact information. Re: Re: I need to vent about insurance - personally, I think hippa was meant to help, but is being blown way out of proportions. My fiancee goes to EVERY dr visit with me, picks up my meds and, all that but couldnt call and even make an appointment for me. At the time, i had already signed a form to alow him to be in the room with me during the exam, but he cant call !!!! (My old dr reufsed to do this because that would violate hippa.) Guest guest
Doesn't the Shrine keep any kind of list of who they refer to the hospitals? I thought that most of the children were referred by Shriners after they found out about their problems. I guess the only other way they could do the party would be there in the hospital. That sure would leave out a lot though. Darlene Re: Re: I need to vent about insurance - personally, I think hippa was meant to help, but is being blown way out of proportions. Guest guest
Yes, but that would be only the children referred by our local Shrine. Someone who was referred by another Shrine and who subsequently moved here wouldn't be in their records. What's it to them if we don't have insurance for awhile???????? Everything we are being treated for will be considered pre-exisiting! Hi Donna, If insurance companies would do what they are being paid to do and stop trying to 'play doctor', everybody would be much better off. If we pay our premiums, there so be no reason for insurance companies not to pay. They probably put us through this stress, so we will have to get more meds and more money for them. I'm glad we have insurance, but it certainly would be nice to not have so many road blocks. hugs eunice
