Guest guest
.....SORRY FOR THE BOOK ALSO DIDNT MEAN TO MAKE IT > WORSE FOR YOU JUST WANTED TO SAY WE ALL CARE FOR YOU AND I HAVE BEEN THERE.... Np Pam, sadly you pretty much summed up my employment...short staffing 4 aides and 42 Alzheimer residents with varying degrees of the illness so violent behavior was always a possibility. I have no doubt that while they (my insurnace co) may not realize the environment Id be returning to I know what Im returning to. I cant ever go back to my floor but they would be putting me on either residential or rehab which both floors ARE lighter but still include the same issues with even less staffing than my floor, less capable aides and to be honest more stress which will be an instant flare up for me. I simply do not not to return at this point if I cant do my job, Im independant and stubborn and hunting down help will only fly with me so long and if I complain it will fall on deaf ears (been here and done this) in the end it will be me who looses my job for not being a " team player " during staffing problems....I will be a threat to patient safety as I wont have the strength to handle them, transfer them the fine motor to help them dress...*grrrrrrrrrr* its all too frustrating to think about...Im really about ready to just tell them to take the insurance coverage, the salary and everything else and resign so I dont stress anymjore..but the logical side says I cant.... Maybe after some coffee the day will look brighter lol Hugs and thank you Pam Donna
Guest guest
Will pray that you make the right decision. Right now, I KNOW the right decision however its fighting with my insurance co and making them realize the right decision. Unfortunately the IME letter has me looking like Ive been screwing around the last few months and making more of this than there is...I happened to see him on a pretty good day, well rested and only a week out of OT therapy...now Im about 5 weeks out and with the onset of cold weather am feeling it, my neurological symptoms are getting bad at night with the tremors and other oddities going on as I rest that I have to see my primary for tomorrow and Im wearing my personal TENS unit upwards to 8 hrs a day for comfort. Going days on end is unrealistic for me..I can go and go but will pay with pain and fatigue for days after, not my kid of life. My really good days are few and far between and those are the days that I can go all day long as long as Im not lifting etc...working my old job is unrealistic but proving it is going to be a battle. Im not declining returning to employment but I cannot and will not return to my old job even if it means losing my benefits as I will not put myself in that position. Im going to contact my pain clinic dr and my primary this week and get letters in writing about my limitations and hope that sways a more beneficial result. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers , they are needed and appreciated! Hugs Love Donna
Guest guest
> Please call > the Insurance Commissioner in your state and ask about > 1) your options for other coverage concerning your health > conditions Hi Lyn My current coverage is under workers comp. I havent used my personal for this at all except to cover my increase in blood pressure. I havent contacted my personal insurance in regards to this because up until this issue mine has been covering everything 100% > 2) what regulations are imposed on the existing ins company to > maintain your coverage for how long and at what cost to you should > you leave this employment I already know how much they will charge me should I leave my company and wish to keep my current insurance and its disgusting, I could never keep it and personally would rather go without than pay their monthly premium. > 3) does a new employer's insurance company have to cover you for > your pre-existing condition without exclusion of any kind. This is something I would need to look into and find out whether pre- existing conditions are covered. I THINK they are but I could be mistaken. > 4) Might you qualify for a state supported health insurance plan? I have looked into this..hubby makes too much money lol..ya ok > > Donna, this is a heavy-duty decision making time. Think it out > loud. We are here to listen and respond if it helps you to work > through this process. Keep asking questions and " rambling " . > Some of my best decisions have been based on that kind of thinking. > It is open ended and allows your mind to be creative and receptive > to innovative solutions. I agree 100% Lyn, most of my big decisions have come from ranting here lately and for each decision made I thank everyone here so much now and in the future! Hugs and thank you Lyn for your thoughts and ideas. Donna
