Guest guest
Hello all! I am going to be traveling to the Salt Lake City area for about a week, starting on the 18th. Tiernan will be on day 13 with his new Hanger helmet, and doesn't it just figure, but there are NO Hangers in Utah. I am taking him in for an adjustment on the 15th to make sure everything looks good before we go, but I would feel MUCH better if I had contact info for a good orthotist in Salt Lake just in case. If all else fails, I can keep his helmet off if he develops a problem, but I'd like to avoid that if I can. Does anyone have a good ortho in Salt Lake? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks!! Guest guest
HI Candace! I actually live in the Salt Lake area. We got Barrett's helmet from a company called Fit-Well located in downtown SLC. I have never seen a Hanger helmet, so I don't know if it's anything like the one Barrett has, but I could give you their information if you'd like. le, UT, mom to Barrett, 6m, helmet 11/20/06mommyluvset <mommyluvset@...> wrote: Hello all! Guest guest
Hello. I hate to say this, but you really shouldn't have an Orthotist other than a Hanger make any adjustments to Tiernan's Hanger Band. It's a shame that there aren't any Hanger offices in Utah. Hopefully you will be fine while you are gone since you are having it checked before you leave. However, if you run into any issues while you are gone, my advice would be just to leave it off until you come back home and can see the Orthotist at Hanger. I remember that in our Hanger Paperwork it specifially states that the band should never be adjusted by anyone other than a Hanger Ortho. Have a nice trip and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't run into any problems with the band. Jen (28 mo), tort resolved, Hanger Band Grad (4.75 years) > > Hello all! Guest guest
Yes, I saw that in the papers, too. I guess with us being so early into treatment, I don't want to screw things up (in regards to Tiernan adjusting) that I am afraid to have to take it off for very long. But, we are only going to be gone five days, and I am having it adjusted two days before we go, so hopefully all will be well. Thanks for the advice. Guest guest
I think I'll just take his helmet off if he developes any issues. I think it is probably better to have the same ortho doing all of the adjustments. With it being such a short trip (five days) I don't anticipate running into any problems. I think I just jumped ahead of myself. I do that sometimes! :-) Candace, AZ mommy to Tiernan, 7 mos tort, plagio Hanger helmet 12/05/06le Hill <hot3mom@...> wrote: HI Candace!
