Guest guest
Well for me I would have to say would to be at 280 by the end of November, currently I am at 312, and have not been there in at least 10 years I am so proud of you! You go girl And yes I am pushing myself to exercise more and more Can anyone give me some pointers of what I can do to increase the weight loss. I had my surgery 4/4/06, and had my tonsils removed on 6/13/06 with some minor complications so I was out for about 1 ½ months But now I am going hard Any help is greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Carbohydrates are seriously essential to a proper diet and to wls surgery diets. I'm eating a can of green beans with some salmon for breakfast right now. Green beans don't have many carbohydrates, or anything for that matter, but what carbohydrates they do have are mostly fiber. Whole grains like oatmeal, popcorn, Cheerios, etc are all great fiber sources. Fresh fruits like bananas, apples, pears, strawberries, blueberries, etc provide essential vitamins and are a great energy source for exercising. Not all carbohydrates, even sugars, can be equated to candy, refined sugar, cakes, etc. It's pretty funny how my kids are so into bananas now. I was pulling off a banana to take into work today and now I've got two left. That's from a bunch of seven I bought yesterday. The kids had two each yesterday afternoon. If I had chips or cookies stocked what would they have eaten instead? Family support is an awesome thing with this. They're going to support me today by buying another bunch of bananas today too. Drinking a lot of water is a great idea too. I seem to be drinking about a gallon to a gallon and half a day now and am pretty regular. I did have constipation a few months ago though. It was seriously not fun. I took a dose of Metamucil and it cleared right up. I hope you feel better ! Mike in GR > > , > CONGRATULATIONS!!! Im so glad you met your goal!! Guest guest
Hey Mike, Thanks Mike! Carbs are not an issue for me, that is I don't stress over eating them because I know I need them; we all do. I eat oatmeal, raisin bran, and small quantities of breads and/or crackers. I don't think I'm having any problem getting sufficient amounts of fiber, but I think I am lacking sufficient amounts of water which is why I made that a November goal. I used to drink much more and I've noticed I am not drinking as much as I should. Life is getting so busy right now with the upcoming move, work, school, and kids that I haven't been paying as much attention as I ought to be to what I am drinking and eating. Life is exhausting! I need to get back on track. I haven't been able to keep up with all of the posts, how are you doing? in Virginia 299/209/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 Goals???? > > > Well...how did everyone do on their October goals? Guest guest
And, following that train of thought, I often have breakfast foods for dinner such as eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, or whatever sounds good. Often breakfast foods are quicker to prepare so that is why I sometimes eat breakfast foods at dinner. in Virginia 299/209/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 Goals???? > > > > > > > > > > > > Well...how did everyone do on their October goals? Guest guest
Hey Mike, I eat carbs too, the healthy ones that is. I really think I've just not been getting enough water, so I am going to be more conscientious about it to ensure I drink enough and keep things moving along with ease. in Virginia 299/209/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 Goals???? > > > > > > Well...how did everyone do on their October goals? Guest guest
I had a friend in Philly who lost 89 lbs by just flipping her meals. She still cooked, but had whatever the kids had for dinner the night before for breakfast the next morning and then breakfast for dinner. She didn't snack at all and drank massive amounts of water up to 3 gallons a day. The weight just dropped off of her. She didn't have time to add exercise but she was an electrician so her job was pretty physical. It worked for her. Goals???? > > > > > > > > > > > > Well...how did everyone do on their October goals? Guest guest
That sounds really wild! I made some shrimp/lobster chili last night. It was/is a massive batch too. I had some for breakfast this morning too. That's right, chili for breakfast. It's quite hot (spicy) so I'm forced to eat it slowly too. It's nice and maddening in that respect. I think it was this little red pepper I put in (I put in a half dozen peppers of various heat/sweetnees). his pepper seems to have also made my hand feel like it was burning a bit for about 3 hrs last night. OUCH. Before you ask I don't have a recipe because I just threw a bunch in a pot but if you want to know an approximate recipe send me an email. There's 28oz of shrimp, 24oz of lobster, beans, hominy, stringed carrots, 3 onions, etc. in there too. Lots of protein, vitamins and fiber. Damn I drink 1.5gallons a day. I couldn't imagine doubling that. I already go to the bathroom 7+ times in a day. I couldn't imagine doubling THAT either. Mike > > > > > > > > , > > > > CONGRATULATIONS!!!
