I think the question depends on whether your hypo is from Hashimoto's. ..and

if so, where in the disease are you. If early in the disease, it is common

to have remission periods. But remember too, taking thyroid meds early can

slow down the destruction of the gland.

Everything that you can do for you immune system will be beneficial in

stopping the antibody attack on the gland.

If later in the disease, the thyroid has been damaged and has become fibrous.

I don't see how reversal of the disease could be obtained then.

All your symptoms.... sure describes me. You ARE at the right

place! I was undiagnosed for over 14 years! The doc started me 6

wks on Levoxyl... not better. I don't think Levoxyl or Synthroid

could touch all the symptoms you and I have. I started noticing

improvements right away with Armour. It's been a roller coaster,

but fortunately... my symptoms are looking better and better. I've

been on Armour since end of August. Up to 3 grains.

I also have adrenal exhaustion. With all the itching and other

symptoms... you might need to consider testing your adrenals as well

as your thyroid.

Go to our website, read the files and links sections to give you a

jump start in understanding all this.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you, Crystal,

I don't even remember before the itchy ears, and the stress incontinence, I'm

wondering if I should

even try to deal with a dr outside the Kaiser system or if I should just work at

treating myself.

Here's a weird question...can this cause the vulva to shrink, as well at itch?

or is that more from ovary/pituary

shutting down?

Getting a " baseline " and a good coach of a doc would be great but I've learned

the hard way

docs can just add to the mess when they don't " get it " ...

Looks like I'm here for the duration!

Thanks!

Welcome ,

My suggestion would be to get Shomon's book - How to live well

with an autoimmune disease.

MS is an autoimmune disease. Having one puts you at a greater risk of

having another. Hashimoto's thyroiditis is another autoimmune

disease. (As is graves disease.) So it is very likely you have

something going on with your thyroid as well.

Magnesium is slowly helping.

Hi ;

Welcome aboard! This is a great list. My name is Sim , and like

you, am relatively new here. I am also a parent of a child with

asperger's syndrome. My son (aged 8) was playing chess at three,

navigating cd roms and such at two, and building robots at 5.

However, most people hold no real significance for him at all

(outside his immediate family). We made the decision to homeschool

when he was 5 and it has been the best decision we have ever made ,

not just for him but for the entire family. There is at least one

wonderful, wonderful yahoo list titled " ASLearning At Home " run by a

great gal named . Those gals are worth their weight in gold,

and would welcome you aboard even if you were just considering

homeschooling. There are even people on list who don't have spectrum

kids, but kids who may have traits.

At any rate, this list is great for finding answers about the

thyroid.
