How many fittings you do a week? Wether you do them at coffee mornings or/and AN meetings? How much stock you have, and how much yu would suggest? These will do for now, as you can probably tell i have been in contact with one MAVA agent(she might train me if i am interested) but i don't think it can harm to get more than one persons perspective on it. Oh yes one more question how long does the job, with the paper work, take per week? Sorry if this sounds nosey but i want to know what i am letting myself in for, if you know what i mean! Guest guest
OK replies to your questions : >I was just wondering if you enjoy it? How many fittings you do a >week? Whether you do them at coffee mornings or/and AN meetings? How >much stock you have, and how much you would suggest? Yes, love it, even when I give up being chair I think I will keep the MAVA stuff for years. It's really great being able to fit women up with a comfortable bra, particularly larger ladies who come stuffed into a mothercare DD, and going away breathing happily in an F or G ( I joke not) Fittings a week vary massively - just after DS4 was born I had loads which I found a bit busy, much quieter atm haven't done one for about 3 weeks. Only do them at coffees if specially asked to take bra case along ( i.e. I don't drag it everywhere with me all the time). when we had an ANT I would go to the bf class and show them, but always did fittings later as they would take up too much time in the classes. I have about 20 day bras, plus about 4/5 night-time bras in stock, don't think could manage with much less, busier agents may find their branches can afford for them to hold more. >These will do for now, as you can probably tell I have been in >contact with one MAVA agent(she might train me if I am interested) >but I don't think it can harm to get more than one persons >perspective on it. it certainly would be useful to go to a couple of her fittings if the mums don't mind, but am fairly sure that you now also have to go on the day workshop before you can start fitting on your own. though there are another couple scheduled " down south " this year so hopefully not a big problem., >Oh yes one more question how long does the job, with the paper work, >take per week? A matter of minutes, I always ( ha ha) try to do it as soon as the client has left, or as soon as the bras arrive in the post >Sorry if this sounds nosey but I want to know what I am letting >myself in for, if you know what I mean! not nosy at all, will talk bras for ages anyway :-))) - now there's real ly sad for you. Guest guest
- don't you have to keep fairly careful eye out for new designs, and which designs they may be about to discontinue? I seem to remember we had to sell bras off cheaply because they weren't current designs and this did lose the branch a little bit of money. The MAVA bra lady (now retired) said she had to keep her eyes open like a hawk on the new MAT sales catalogues as she wasn't actually notified directly when lines were discontinued. Perhaps something we could take up with Mat sales links with MAVA agents? Caro

Incase anyone was wondering - the two year timescale is because all fabric and especially elastic/elastane types deteriorate with time and so there has to be a cut off point at which it is no longer reasonable to sell them at full price because the customer won't get the full 'life' from the item. Agents get mailings 3 or 4 times a year and we try to make sure that they are interesting as well as informative. Things such as questions (and answers) from training days and comments from the NCTMS team in Glasgow are included. Also information about changes to the bra styles and sizes and recalls of discontinued stock, we also give price change information as soon as we know that this is happening. Feedback from agents and branches is always welcome. Caro, I'm sorry to hear that your last agent wasn't informed about discontinued lines. Perhpas there was an admin or postal slip up and she missed a particular mailing. If anyone's Mava Volunteer Agent (their formal title) has any issues that need to be looked into I'm happy to help, but can't promise to do much this side of conference.
