Guest guest
I worried about repo affecting muscles too, but I didn't see any evidence of that in my son. Just so you know, the way the neck muscles work, babies with tort will *turn* one way and *tilt* the other. Our son preferred to turn his head to the right and tilted slightly towards his left shoulder. It is often the turning that causes the plagio, at least that was true for us and the other moms I know. So if you are repo-ing to one side because she is turning the other way, and laying her on the non-flat side, chances are that that tilt is just part of the original tort, and not something you did. You'll definitely want to treat the tort if it is there with some stretches. Ask your doc about a referral for a physical therapist. Our doc said that our son's neck was fine since he had full range of motion, but he did have noticeable tilt and turning preference, so we just did some mild stretches ourselves and that worked it out for him. Let me know if you want more info on the stretches if your doc doesn't feel that you need a PT. -Pam On 2/17/08, kmwood88 <kmwood88@...> wrote: I've been aggressively repositioning my daughter for 5 months withmuch success for plagio. I'm trying to avoid a helmet. Our visitwith the neurosurgeon is end of March. I took her for her passportphoto and noticed she favours tilting her head to the side I position her on (and noticed it for a few days after). She seems to have fullrange of motion (can turn all around) but if she favours tilting tothis side, have I caused tort? Any reqs on what to do or check her? Any reqs on what to ask my regular doctor (seeing next week.) She is sitting up well. She is 7 months old. Thanks so much.
