The Coffee list *is* for things like tantrums, potty training and such

stuff! It was set up originally because these subjects came up a lot

on the Main List, but are not NCT business.

I guess you could say that while this is the cyber equivalent to an

NCT coffee morning, the main NCT list is the equal of a committee

meeting.

Are there any groups missing? Do you think that there is a need for

another group (linked to the nct or not)? one that deals with the

terrible twos, toddler tantrums and such like, including potty

training as well! as much as i like this coffee group i find that i

am sifting through too much stuff that i can't read(Lack of time).

I think we all sift through info that doesn't deal with us.

It's the info that does that is important :)

Calvin will be potty training in a year (or two or three)

and probably tantrumming in a few minutes (OK, not really

tantrums yet, but...), so although I don't *need* to know

about it right now, I am happy to hear peoples' personal

experiences and hope that when I want to whinge about wee

on the floor, that the experienced people here will listen

and give me support.

We can't have a seperate group for every aspect of our

lives, that would be like having a different friend for

every aspect of our lives and having to make a new friend

before I could talk about the car I buy or something.

Nope!

I received indiv emails (digests are IMHO spawn of the devil),

sort by subject, and if I don`t have much time, I delete without

reading any thread I`m not interested in. & only read what`s in the

preview pane. BTW - that`s why it`s important to change the

subject line if the subject changes! (I know everyone is quite good

about that here!)

Easy peasy!

No, try getting individual mails and using the delete key for threads you

are not interested in.

The whole point of this group is that we talk about anything and everything,

just like a real coffee morning, and we can dip in and out of conversations

as we would in real life. Subjects that were of no interest to me a year

ago when I was focusseed on my newborn are now the items I home in on. And

reading about subjects that you think you think you aren't interested in can

be enlightening - I have this list to thank for a year of real nappy use

now.

I agree entirely Phyllis. This is, of course why it is *so* important that

people change the subject line on messages then you can just choose to read

the subjects that interest you.

I tried digest while we were on hols - couldn't bear to go nomail and risk

missing something! - and I have to say I hated it. I don't know how you do

it. Much easier to read/delete/read/delete...

idea to pass around- hey i like stirring it up in case you haven't

noticed at least it gets people to notice that i exist!
