Guest guest
Cris, I hear ya! The only time I had diarrhea was when I had to take a combo of strong laxatives prior to a colonscopy! Doesn't matter what I eat or don't eat....always somewhat constipated and bloated. If I knew of a safe, gluten-free laxative I'd be taking them daily! Anyone out there have any ideas for us? Thanks, Dee
Guest guest
yes, if you take too much. What you describe sounds like a hyper symptom Lynda (in the UK) Embarrasing..... Can Armour or Synthoid have a " laxative " effect? I've been running to the bathroom for weeks and it's just like water coming out. I also have the feared " exploding sharts " ..... I can't get too far from home. Of course docs office isn't open until Monday. I will call then to see if I can get in. Hugs, Tigger

Guest guest
I don't think I will ever have this problem on Armour! I know that constipation is a sign of hypo - but I just can't imagine that even if I ever get treated properly, that I won't be constipated! Cris Re: Embarrasing..... Remember hypo folks often have malabsorption or leaky gut syndrome. How much Armour are you taking and what times do you take it? cindi

Guest guest
At night I take a cal/mag supplement in a 2:1 ratio...which gives me 500 of magnesium. I also take 2000 mg of Vit C a day....shouldn't that be enough? Thanks, Dee
Guest guest
I take Vit C powder and whole soaked flaxseeds by the spoonful in the morning and magnesium at night. Kate Re: Embarrasing..... Guest guest
I ate ground flaxseeds ever day for a good while. I grind them myself. I've gotten away from that recently. I should start that up again also - Cris Re: Embarrasing..... Cris, I hear ya! The only time I had diarrhea was when I had to take a combo of strong laxatives prior to a colonscopy! Guest guest
Where do you get your probiotics? I asked at a health food store once - all they have is acidophilus - which, I have. Cris Re: Embarrasing..... I am extremely hypo & have only been on Armour for two months. But I'm never constpiated & rarely have gas. I used to all the time though until I figured out what to do about it in a natural way without taking laxatives. Enemas or colonics will clear the bowels & the constipation. Aloe vera is a natural laxative that doesn't upset the stomach, in fact cures, heals & is soothing... also helps prevent gas. A good probiotic also helps by putting favorable bacteria into the colon that digests the foods better. I take Primal Defense. The other best one is Woebenzyme. Oat bran every morning will help with constipation. White, red & yellow Onions cause gas. But green onions/scallions & leeks do not. Sometimes green, yellow or red peppers cause gas too as does cabbage, brussel sprouts & the other crucifores. Chewing food until its liquified also prevents gas as the digestive process begins in the mouth with the saliva. And so does NOT drinking any liquids with meals. Beano or a similar anti-gas product before meals prevents gas as does taking enzymes at the start of all food ingestion. ----- Original Message ----- From: Deb Hi Cris, I'm with you. I've been taking Armour for about a week shy of four months and this is NOT a problem for me. I don't think I will ever have a time when constipation is not a major part of my life. UGH!!! My husband thinks it's a little funny as do my two little boys because I have also become quite gassy.....but still no movement without a handful of laxatives. What is it with boys and why do they think noises you can make with your body are funny? Anyway....does anyone know of a way to unstop yourself other than regular laxatives? They upset my stomach alot. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Guest guest
Acidophilus is a main one that I use. GNC carries several different one.
