Lanoxin is the NON-generic digoxin... the name brand. That's what I take. Apparently the generics are just as good, BUT, you have to continue to take what you started with as the fillers can make absorption different, so switching from name-brand to generic is not advised. I was started on Lanoxin at Urgent Care, so when I got a full prescription, the doc put " no substitutions and no generics " on it so I'd stay on the same thing. Fortunately, it's an old medication, so even the name brand isn't expensive. A little more than generic, but not much. Toni CA

I totally agree with you. And yes, 24/7. Mostly the rate is under 100, sometimes not so much. And it totally bites. My times of NSR are getting shorter. This is the longest attack I've had since January and I don't know if it's an anomaly or a harbinger of something worse, or that I am going chronic. I am not a happy camper about it at all. On the plus side, I've been on vacation all week, lazing around the house and being a tourist in my own town, which is an easy thing to do in San Diego. And I'm exercising and walking quite a bit because since I'm already IN it, the fear of it starting from exercise isn't there. The bad part of that is that though I'm sure the exercise helps on many levels, I can only do short spurts. Today I was down by the water at a tourist spot and I'd walk, then rest, then walk, then rest. I couldn't do too much at one spurt as my heart would start racing and I'd get all clammy. So I'd sit till it passed, then get up and go again. I don't know how people in chronic a-fib do it ... and I hope I'm not in the process of finding out. I've shed a few tears of frustration over it in the last 12 days ... but the squirrels in my chest just keep boxing and running on their little wheels in there. sigh ... WTF is as good a question as any ... am awaiting an answer from God or whoever on that very query! Toni CA
Guest guest
I started on Lanoxin and then the pharmacy filled it with the generic Dogixin and I had a TERRIBLE night. I had an awful headache, I was very dizzy, very agitated, could not sleep - it was really bad. I called my pharmacy and they let me bring the generic back and receive the Lanoxin for the same price. You are right Toni, not good to change. Guest guest
Well you are right on with this email, I took my 1st one last night and I am still in hell. Sick as a dog, no sleep, I'm at 125 BPM and can't wait until the effects are out of my system. Never again will I get Generic, thats for this. --- d m wrote: > I started on Lanoxin and then the pharmacy filled it > with the generic > Dogixin and I had a TERRIBLE night. It's been 4 years now for me ... but that only means I don't run to the ER anymore. And the panic takes longer to set in. It does get easier emotionally, but after 13 days, not so much.
