Feels like popcorn in your chest.

Does this sound like afib?

My doc had me wear an event moniter for a month. The first night I

had about a 7 second episode. I called it in the next day and they

said " stay by your phone, we found what the doctor was looking for

and he'll be calling you " . Of course, I freaked.The doc called me

two days later, said it looked like afib, start taking an aspirin a

day and 'I need more data to be sure " .Well, those dang event

moniters keep them away, thats for sure.Had a few shorter episodes

while driving, but too short to hit the record button. Saw the doc,

after my echo, I have RBBB and MVP.He says I either have afib or

ectopic atrial rhythm...whatever THAT is???? I'm confused. I've had

these episodes for as long as I can remember..I'm 53...he said my

atrium was not enlarged , so I guess that was good.

What does afib feel like? The longest I've ever had was about 45

minutes until the paramedics gave me something to get me back in

NSR.The doc upped my meds from 50 mg. metoprolol a day to

100.Otherwise I feel great, just tired a whole lot.Most of my

episodes are quite short, I feel like I'm gonna pass out, but I

kinda slow my breathing and ride them out.I read on here how people

are in a fib for weeks at a time~there is NO way that I could last

THAT long with what I have. Any help out there? I'm confused big

Sounds to me like you might have a mild form of afib. If I were you, I'd go

for a second opinion.

I like to say that afib feels like running a marathon at 14,000 feet with

bronchitis...

if you're getting weak during your episodes, it could indicate that your heart

rate is quite high. I'm highly symptomatic and refractory to rate control drugs

(means they don't work) and my afib generally runs in the 130 to 180+ bmp

range.. at that speed one is generally very short of breath, and may get

headachy, and very very tired.

6 weeks! Yikes! I was afib only once and it last 7 hours (150-200 BPM) I don't

know how anyone could handle more than the 7 hours I had...it absolutely drained

me.

150 to 200 bmp is a pretty serious heart rate... doctors get very excited when

you push 200 for too long! That'll drain you very quickly!

AFIB presents itself differently in a lot of people. I know the

instant I go into it. My heart rate goes to about 120 bpm. It

feels like my heart ispounding through my chest. I can last a long

time. One time I walked around like that for two weeks before the

converted me.

My brother can walk around for months in it...his only symptom is

that he feels more tired than usual

My sister's heart rate goes to about 250 but it only lasts about 10

minutes.

I can tell by feeling my pulse. Its fast and very irregular
