Guest guest
Hi . We had the same problem with Ethan pulling out of the Markell shoes. He had a second tenotomy and is still pulling out of them. When he does have them on he gets sores. We have done everything to correct this but it still happens. I emailed Dr Ponseti this morning and here is what he had to say: July 28, 2004 The pictures show Ethan's feet are short and stubby but they seem to be corrected. I don't know how much dorsiflexion he has. To show this you must put the palm of your hand against the sole of his foot and push up his forefoot so I can see how far it bends up. This view should be taken from the side. Dr. Showalter has had extensive experience with clubfeet so I recommend you continue with him. This type of clubfoot does not do well in the Markell shoes and they often cause sores. I recommend you contact to get shoes and a bar from him. I.V.Ponseti, M.D. I know they are expensive, but if they will stop my baby's blisters and he can't pull out of them that is what we are going to do. Hope that helps a little. Guest guest
Tina... Thanks for the info. was able to keep them on a bit longer this afternoon... but only when he is sleeping. When he is up, they are kicked off within a few minutes of putting them on. We are looking into getting the mitchell shoes right now. I hope they work! dylansmommy2000 dylansmommy2000@...> wrote: Hi . We had the same problem with Ethan pulling out of the Markell shoes. He had a second tenotomy and is still pulling out of them.
