Guest guest
Hi Sheila; Glad you decided to post today. You have set a goal, and I know that not reaching it has you upset, but look at all the wonderful positives from going from 229 to 134. Looks like you've not had any plateaus to deal with, and only 2 maintains, and only one 1/2 pound gain throughout the past year. Wow! You are terrific, and have done so well for yourself. You deserve a gold star, and lots of pats on the back on these marvelous accomplishments. You're exercising and doing all the right stuff. The 8th isn't until Wednesday... and I'm betting you make your goal without a sweat. I can't switch to the Core Program, either...I like using my points too much. We're going sailing tomorrow with friends, and I plan to be able to stay on program throughout the day, and come home proud of what I was able to do, because these people like to snack a lot, and I asked if I could bring the snacks(giving me a little more control of the day somewhat)...and low point snacks are what I am taking. Wish me luck, and a lot of willpower. I am hoping for a certain goal myself this coming weigh in day on Wednesday the 8th...I want to be 199, or less would be nice too. I am still at 200, even though I worked 5 hours out in the yard yesterday, and really worked up a sweat, besides racking up the activity points, which I did not use. I have been doing aerobics with Austin at 6 A.M. on Lifetime channel, Mon-Fri, the past couple of weeks for 30 minutes, and believe that is helping me a lot. Gives my body a little something different to chew on, besides walking, and gardening, and playing some pretty aerobic games with my grandchildren. The best of luck to you, Sheila, on Wednesday the 8th. Let me know how you did. Pat from K.C. Just Joined... Hi! Been lurking for about a week or so and finally decided to introduce myself. I'm Sheila, I'm 37 and from Grand Rapids, MI. September 8th will be the one-year anniversary of my having joined WW and I had hoped to hit goal on/by that day, but I think I'll still be a few pounds off. One year ago I weighed 229 at 5'2 " . My goal is 131 and at last weigh in I was 136 1/4 (having gone up 1 1/2 lb. from the week before when I was 134 3/4). I'm afraid this last few pounds is going to take forever. I've only had one other gain and that was only 1/2 lb. Twice I maintained. I know it's normal, but it's still very frustrating. I'm pretty obsessive about sticking to points. The losses are what keep me going. I go to Curves 4 times a week...and I've recently started walking 1.8 miles a day too (which made me wonder if that wasn't the cause of my 1 1/2 lb. increase). I also have an exercise hoola-hoop that I TRY to do 15 minutes a day. (If you haven't heard of these, they're awesome...mine weighs 4 lb..and anyone can do them! They're supposed to take 2 inches off your waist in a month if you do them twice a day for 10 minutes) Looking forward to cutting Curves down to 3 times a week when I make my goal. Have considered switching to Contours for a different kind of workout, but I'm also afraid that will affect my loss. Went shopping this weekend for new fall clothes (92.75 lb later) and was thrilled to fit into size 8's! Love shopping now... Guess that's it..I'm a little down right now about not hitting my goal by the 8th. I do weigh myself every morning, which I know I'm not supposed to do but I can't help it. I know I need to get to like 128 or 129 on my scale (first thing in the morning, no clothes) to reach goal of 131 at weigh in. I do the At-Work program at work and weigh in on Mondays. Anyway, I had been down to 131.5 on my scale just a couple days ago and then this morning back up to 133.5 ::sigh:: Guess that's it for now....I'm glad I found this group, I've already learned a ton. I swear by sweet potatoes, the new Carb Sensible Keebler peanut butter cookies, Yoplait light Boston Creme Pie yogurt, Smart Ones Chocolate Sundae cones.... Don't think I'll switch to the Core program at this point. Sheila
