Guest guest
Hi alaa The best place to be treated depends on where you live and what is available to you, but, when you have kidney disease, you should see a nephrologist. Where do you live? Cozaar and fish oil are perfectly reasonable things to be taking when you have IgAN, and for most people with IgAN who don't have heavy proteinuria. Some nephrologists might want to try more aggressive drugs, but I think most would not due to the adverse effects of these drugs, if the IgAN is relatively mild, as yours appears to be. No, I don't think that fish oil will stop blood in the urine. Fish oil doesn't really treat or stop any of the symptoms of IgAN. It is only taken because it might help slow the progression of the disease in a general way. The visible blood will eventually stop by itself, but you will probably continue with microscopic blood. This is usually typical of IgA nephropathy. Your blood pressure is excellent - better than normal, and your serum creatinine of 1.3 is just a little higher than normal (this number might even be normal for some people). I hope this helps to answer your questions. Guest guest
Hi Alaa, Pierre already answered your other questions while I was on a plane today so I'll just say that I agree with Pierre on the fact that your creatinine is very good and your blood pressure is indeed excellent. What part of the USA do you travel to? If you can let us know what states you go to, we can give you more specific advise on where to go for treatment. In a message dated 4/13/2005 4:50:23 P.M. I hope some of our many American members will be able to make some suggestions for you. Pierre
