Guest guest
When I was a child, anytime I'd do physical activity and get hot, my ankles would itch madly with no rash. I never itched anywhere else. I honestly believe it was a vascular problem...the problem went away when I started wearing ankle socks rather than the calf-high socks (constriction). I remember pouring tons of lotion on my legs for the coolness of it. Maybe the heat in the bath causes the same type of vascular reaction. I've never heard of this happening to anyone else, so I was really shocked to see this post. Everyone always made little of my situation when I was a kid or said I was faking it, but I know dang sure I wasn't. It was hell. By the way, this only happened to me between the ages of 8 and 14, but I still wear only anklets. -- In parenting_autism , " kebmw <mother@s...> " <mother@s...> wrote: > Weird situation over here. > > Jake, like many other ASD kids, has always loved his baths. Guest guest
Ok... first of all I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and just to make a point i'll start saying that medicine is pretty advanced here (more than in other places)... just for you all to know we don't run naked through the woods ;-) When i had my rai (dec 2002) they told me to go home. I made some questions and they told me that they can keep me there if my endo told so, but the thing is that i went home. I have 4 cats (well, now 5, but i had 4 then) adn i was worried for them (not for my parents, ha!) but the thing is that i've been doing some schedules to avoid contact with my folks (that was great... i need another rai... !!!!!!) and my kitties. If I were your husband i would go to pent a week in a hotel but, who knows... Don't get nervous about the isolation.... you can walk by another one and nothing's gonna happen. the thing is if you sleep with someone or stay too much time with that person, etc etc... and obviously... pregnancy, but that's another issue. About the lemon candies... those are to keep the salivary glands working..... i wouldn't mind.... by the way, when i had my rai i bought some lemon candies and i almost threw up (i couldn't eat because everthing seemed yucky, including lemon candies).... just water..... lots of water. I hope this helps and take care. Good luck with the rai and remember, don't go glowing in the night. Rodrigo NEED ADVICE Hello everyone! My thyca journey just seems to get weirder and weirder as I continue on. I met with a radiation oncologist today and this is what he says. He says that they will send me to the hospital to take a pill for 150mCi's of radiactive iodine (no surprise there) and then he says I will go immediately home!! I was like, are you sure? I told him that I joined a support group and was all prepared to spend time at the hospital (at least 24 hours) and he said " that's the way we used to do it, but it's 2003. " What the heck is that supposed to mean??? He said Texas changed the regulations and now I'm supposed to go immediately home...no time in the hospital. I was all prepared to spend that time...I even have all my baggies packed already and everything! After my pill and going home, I'm supposed to go back 2 days later for the whole body scan. I'm sure being hypo is not helping the situation but I want to see if anyone else here has had a similiar situation and if they fought to stay in the hospital or if I should. The good things about going home right away is the cost (since I believe I will be paying for it myself) and I don't have children at home to worry about. The bad thing is that I DO have a husband and we live in a very small 1 bedroom apt (which is essentially just 2 rooms with a bathroom). I'm worried about my husband and what effect it might have on him. They gave me guidelines that say to keep a 6-7 foot distance from others. I'm not sure if I can do that at ALL times. I guess if I used gloves it can work out okay maybe or if he went to stay somewhere for a few days. I feel like I'm crazy and I feel like I'm in shock. Like I was SO prepared for something totally different and now I'm not sure if I believe what they are saying to me. Should I do anything about it or just trust that it will be ok and follow the directions? Not to mention that the earliest they might be able to do the treatment might not be till Monday and I have been hypo for so long and I've already taken off work for this week. She said she would try to get it sooner but the people at the hospital left at 4 pm!! Must be nice. Also, he gave me a prescription for Synthroid to take about 4 days after I take the radiactive iodine but he gave me a dose for .1 and I specifically remember the endo say that after my treatment he was going to put me on a .2 dose. Should I call the endo and ask him if that dose it ok or just trust this guy and take it?? The other thing that I thought was strange was he didn't say anything about taking lemon drops or sour candies to help. Instead he gave me a prescription for a drug called Mediol that I'm only supposed to fill if I get a lot of swelling and am uncomfortable. If anyone has any advice or words of wisdom, I would deeply appreciate it! Thanks in advance! Guest guest
, I hate to say this but if you have high blood pressure you really need a doctor to monitor the adrenal treatment. It can be dangerous with high blood pressure. Since I have started the treatment my blood pressure has increased a lot. I usesd to be around 90/60 and now I'm 130/80. It can be hard on the heart if not done correctly. Why do you say you need your cortisol lower? That would mean that you have cushing's syndrome not adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue is a shortage of cortisol being made.
