Kim - I also joined Curves a few weeks ago.

I have several " ailments " - Fibromyalgia, IBS, migraines, ADD,

depression, elevated liver enzymes, had gestational diabetes in 1997,

sleep apnea, had breast surgery to remove a large lipoma in May 2005,

and was about 50 pounds overweight if you go by the height chart (I am

5'6 " ). Personally I don't care what my weight number is - I just knew

I didn't feel healthy. I am 38.

I was diagnosed Type 2 on December 9, 2005. Since that day I have gone

from 202 to about 180 (between 178 & 182 pounds) JUST by eating

diabetic. Now I am looking forward to losing additional weight and

firming up by learning fitness training.

Eunice -- I am grateful that I was not given " a few months to live " . My

MIL is courageously fighting ovarian cancer and has had chemo twice. I

have watched her become stronger and treasure each day even more that

she did before. My in-laws are fabulous people. They have taught me

many valuable lessons.

The diagnoses I have been given can be maintained with attitude and life

changes. I have decided to be healthier for my husband and

daughter....and my family and friends -- but most of all for MYSELF.

I have enjoyed your group - I generally skim through the ones about

medications as I am not currently on any. I was on Lisinopril but it

lowered my blood pressure so much I was miserable. I wish the drug

companies could make a medication to just protect my kidneys from

diabetes, but my doctor said there is no such product out yet, they are

all for high blood pressure also which I do not have.
