Guest guest
Hi, Jai! Glad you told me near Saratosa. I would have been traveling all around the keys since I know zero geography in Florida. Now I have a feeling for it and enjoyed my travel. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. Guest guest
-Hi Phil! Good to meet you. Well, you are the farthest north so far. I found Kebatogama State Park and then Kebatogama next to Kebatogama Lake. How is the weather up there! Do you have some good advice on how to handle the cold weather with RSD? Hope to hear more from you and that you are doing alright. Guest guest
Phil I am also interested in how you deal with such extreme cold. Do you get out much in winter which must last from Oct. to April......and Lyn, you have really done a great service by putting pins where people live as first your having good time and sure it helps you not think about the pain your in, and we with our frustration can have all sorts of pins put in for reasons not exactly for nicest of reasons, but fun ones. Take care Phil and Lyn have fun pinning. JoAnn s Momma Re: Lin/members home city and state > > > -Hi Phil! Good to meet you. Well, you are the farthest north so > far. Guest guest
Lyn, you're right I am far North, 30 miles South of Canada. The weather is one issue, the other is the distance to my primary Dr. and PT. It can be a miserable drive 120 miles South down to Duluth. Since I was diagnosed with RSD, I have been blessed with the fact that it is still localized in my left hand and arm. I actually find it fairly easy to keep hand warm with a mitt, called a chopper. Up here we wear several layers of clothes and a warm coat. As the day warms up you take a layer off, and add back on as necessary. Fleece lined pants or double layer long underwear keeps the body warm and a rabbit fur hat keeps the head warm. My worst fear is falling on ice, I did that last winter and went into orbit, landing on my arm/hand, as a consequence I go out of my way to protect it from peril. I do think I can handle the cold better than heat, hopefully sometime down the road I can winter in a little warmer climate and spend maybe 9 months up here. LOL, lots of hugs, Phillynlorraine wrote: -Hi Phil! Good to meet you. Well, you are the farthest north so far. I found Kebatogama State Park and then Kebatogama next to Kebatogama Lake. Guest guest
Phil, I could just picture it happening and gasp for breath at the thought of your fall last winter. I am really concerned about that very thing here. Weather here is not even close to yours but ice is ice and we have a lot of it all winter long. The black ice is the worst because I just can't see it when I try to walk so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I got pretty good on my crutches some years ago. But I haven't any practice now so I'll just have to do the best I can. I'm glad you have been able to keep it from spreading. And I hope your treatments improve your condition. Those long doctor trips are the pits, though! Careful does it!
