Guest guest
Since I can't locate a second-hand pair (i.e. affordable) pair of shoes, can someone please tell me how to find those other boots that came out last year with extra padding built in to them? They were the white boot just built with padding. I looked at buying those right before asked me to try his prototype shoe at a very discounted price. There is no way I could spent $385 on a new pair of shoes right now so I guess I have to find an alternative. Thanks. s.

Guest guest
I just measured using the guide on the Markel site and his big toe goes up to the Size 1. So I guess he'd need closer to a size 2. Have you used those Markels with the extra padding built in? I still have the bar that goes to the Markel style on a size 3 shoe left over from my older boy that I guess I'll hang on to for later. But I do have one pair size 0 with a bar up for grabs to whomever may be able to use them. s. Guest guest
Could you please give me the address of the Market site. I may be able to use those size 0's, but I want to measure Zander's feet first. and Zander 4/27/04 bcf Number23 number23@...> wrote: I just measured using the guide on the Markel site and his big toe goes up to the Size 1. Guest guest
I think it is Markell.com or markellshoes.com. Jay Markell might be around and give you the correct address. www.pediatric-orthopedic-foundation.org

Guest guest
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it already, but you can go online to markellshoes.com and order a pair directly from them, thus guaranteeing that you will get the current model. Now that his feet are bigger, they should work fine for you. We never had a pair of them, but the orthotist at Children's let us look at/examine a pair and they are really alot nicer than the old ones. The leather is alot softer than it used to be which allows for a better fit sooner, I think. The only thing is watch for the padded tongue. If you still have an old pair you can always switch out the tongue, or just take it out completely, if it causes any trouple. Angel New Shoes Since I can't locate a second-hand pair (i.e. affordable) pair of shoes, can someone please tell me how to find those other boots that came out last year with extra padding built in to them? They were the white boot just built with padding. Guest guest
Sometimes the padded tongue will cause blisters. It is because the padding is very thick and can wrinkle and pinch the top of the foot. When we were in IC last fall at American Prosthetics mentioned that she had concerns about this (this was before they went into production) and so when people began talking about red spots/blisters on top of the foot from them it clicked right away. Having said that, there are many that do not have the first problem with them.
