Guest guest
It has been a LONG time since I have written here about my son . He was born 9/2000 with bilateral clubfoot. I jumped in gung- ho with the doctors and went ahead with the surgery.... one turned into two into three... hes had 4 now.... He was accepted by the Shriners and we have been to Tampa twice now... They are saying NO MORE operations.... (unlike the hometown doc who says " numerous more needed " ). He was fitted with a brace to wear at night which is made of hard white plastic... We go back again in August.... If anyone is thinking about getting more information about the Shriners, please, do NOT hesitate. They WILL accept a child with clubfoot! I will keep you all posted as updates come about. Until then, If youd like to email me, feel free to do so. ~ boosmommyjenn@...
Guest guest
Yay! Congrats!-- Okay, so I got my blood results back. Bad news first: My liver enzymes were kinda jacked up. The doctor thought it might be some of the supplements Im taking, so I just have to go off those and get m blood retested, so it's all good =D Good news: EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKED JUST PEACHY KEEN!!!! Yay! I wasn't anemic anymore, my vitamins were good, and NO CANDIDA!!! And the thing I'm super excited about, my SED rate was NORMAL!!!! I was really afraid it would be inflamed since I've been feeling a little flared up, but it was good!!!! Yay! I'm so excited. And I got my second yogurt maker today. The delivery guy asked me what it was, and when I told him it was a yogurt maker, he said, " oh wow, that's cool! How do you make homemade yogurt, out of ice cream or something? No, that can't be right... " lol =) SO I told him, and then he asked me if I was going to be a scientist when I grew up. I told him maybe. LOL!!! Gotta love delivery guys =) Anyways, there's my update. Hope you're all doing well! Pour Dieu, pour terre, Alyssa =D

Guest guest
Thanks Kelley =D I know! Actually, for my high school graduation project, I was thinking about writing a book about IBD and different ways people have healed themselves, and also my experience. I really want to try to help other people so that they can actually be CURED and not live on meds forever!Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa =DCongratulations, Alyssa!! That's such great news! Keep talking to those delivery people and others...you never know who's life you might affect by passing along this diet. My husband has had more than one person enthusiastically ask him for information while he's at training classes for his job all over the country. The conversations often just start by him not wanting to go out for the typical pizza or chinese for lunch because his wife has us all on a special diet for my daughter with Asperger's...So happy for you! What a big sigh of relief! :DKelley W.>> Okay, so I got my blood results back.> > Bad news first: My liver enzymes were kinda jacked up. Guest guest
Thanks Marilyn! I was taking DGL licorice (sugarless), which I'm not 100% sure if it's legal or not. And L-glutamine, and some multivitamins, which were legal, and fish oil. And digestive enzymes/HCL capsules. THe only one I"m not sure was legal was DGL, but my mom said it healed her ulcer so I was willing to chance it =)Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa =DOkay, so I got my blood results back.Bad news first: My liver enzymes were kinda jacked up. The doctor thought it might be some of the supplements Im taking, so I just have to go off those and get m blood retested, so it's all good =DWhat specific supplements are you taking? Are they SCD legal?Good news: EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKED JUST PEACHY KEEN!!!! Yay! I wasn't anemic anymore, my vitamins were good, and NO CANDIDA!!! And the thing I'm super excited about, my SED rate was NORMAL!!!! I was really afraid it would be inflamed since I've been feeling a little flared up, but it was good!!!! Yay! I'm so excited.Iron levels and just about every thing else tend to normalize on SCD. That's cool about the SED rate, too!And I got my second yogurt maker today.Always worthwhile. After tryding to do enough yogurt for my first SCD Christmas, I bought a dehydrator, 'cause in my Excalibur, I could do four containers of yogurt at once. Did end up with a second yogurt maker in 2005, courtesy of a fellow SCDer who discovered I'd evacuated without my yogurt maker.COngratulations you to for coming along so well. Now just think where you'll be a year from now!— Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Okay, thanks Holly! amy doctor wasn't even that worried about it, so I think it will be fine. Also, I just started drinking lemon water which is supposed to support your liver, so maybe that will help too! Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa =DThat's great Alyssa! I wouldn't necessarily worry about the liver enzymes. Mine were elevated recently too, and when I asked people here, they said things like that can fluctuate a lot during the first year or so on the diet. When I had them retested a few weeks later, they were back to normal.HollyCrohn'sSCD 12/01/08>> Okay, so I got my blood results back.> > Bad news first: My liver enzymes were kinda jacked up.
