Guest guest
We don't have any experience with the DBB. went right from her casts into her sandals. Dr. Ponseti said that these would work better with her " elegant " feet. They have been pretty easy to get on. We didn't have any problems with blisters or pressure sores. (we consider ourselves very lucky) They are more expensive than the other brace. I don't know if Dr. Ponseti will continue to have use the sandals as her feet grow or if he'll have us switch to the Markell shoes? We see Dr. Ponseti on July 7th for 's first follow-up after her castings. We'll do whatever is best for her feet, though. Sorry I can't answer your question any better. I know there are a handful of parents out there that have had experience with both braces and will be able to help you better. Bridget and 2/20/04 bl cf sandals 23/7 > Hello everyone.. Guest guest
> does this brace work any better than the DBB? > Allyn It really depends on the feet. For most feet the Markell shoes works just fine. It is important to understand that the brace IS a FAB (what many call DBB), it is just designed a bit different. It is still shoes attached to a bar with exterior rotation and dorsiflexion. The shoes themselves are the real difference. For some feet the Markell shoes dont work. They wont stay on or make blisters, or the feet are just so small, or like in Kai's case, just wont hold correction. They are mostly used on younger children. There are only 3 or 4 I think that are over 1 year that use the brace. Angel
