Where at in WA are you? I am in Yakima :) We see Dr Mosca in

Seattle and he just recently did some casting on my son (just a bit

younger than yours, born 12/02)

Go to

http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/index.html

to start with. Casting an " older " child (older than 3 mo or so) can

be tricky, if I understand correctly, but it definitely can be done!

My son was casted using this method beginning at 1 month by Dr Mosca

at Seattle Children's Hospital, but due to other issues was also

casted at 8.5 mo (by Dr Ponseti), and again at 14-16 mo by Dr Mosca.

Welcome! I am not the best at giving info, but others will! :)

Hi ,

The Dr. you want to see is Dr. Mosca at Childrens Hospital in Seattle. He is

the only Dr. in Washington on Dr. Ponseti's approved list.

We actually live in Alaska and were referred to Dr. Mosca. He comes to

Anchorage once or twice a year, but it about the same distance for us to go to

Anchorage or Seattle. Anyway, he is the Ponseti expert for WA and ID and it

would be well worth your time to go see him. The number is 866 987-2000 X3700.

Dr. Mosca told us a year ago that he had been practicing the Ponseti method for

3 years and that he wished he could go back and retreat all the children he had

treated surgically. That comment impressed me alot and also I am very confident

in his ability.

Also, his staff is very helpful and they are really good about getting you in

right away for an appointment.

Best of luck,

Robin & Rose

was born in 10/02 he was born with clubfoot to both feet. We had

casts done 2 days after birth using the non Ponseti method. They

left them on too long and we weren't able to do casts again. When he

was about 10 months old took him to a different doctor that told us

surgery would be neccessary but we would have to wait till he was 12-

15 months old. Well here we are today finally found a doc that would

see a child for this in our area. Come to find out she specializes

in the Ponseti Method and feels that his feet are still flexible

enough to see the results we want. Can anyone tell me anything about

the Ponseti Method I have a general idea of what it is but would like

some personal insight into it. Thanks
