Guest guest
Kori, Alyssa is almost 7 months old and in a 0 now (started in a 00). I am sure she will need size 2's before we are able to stop wearing the shoes! My daughter is unilateral as well. Does you daughter need 2 different size shoes? If so, do you know of a place that sells them separately or do you just buy 2 pairs? I was born with both feet clubbed, one more severe than the other, and they are slightly different sizes, but I am able to wear one size shoe for both most of the time! ______________________________________________________________ , What size do you need? I have some 2's that I won't need pretty soon. Darbi has been wearing them since she wore a size 2.5 - 3 in regular shoes and is in 4's now. She could wear them for a while longer still if she wasn't unilateral (non CF toe rubs on the ground when she crawls). If you want them, they're yours. I can't seem to give these away yet lol! She grew out of those in about 4mo and we went to the 2. So these might work for you. Print out the sizing chart in the files section that Jay uploaded and see how far she is from the 2 and let me know. If you have to buy these things outright I would love to help. >My daughter is unilateral as well. Does you daughter need 2 >different size shoes? In fact, I just checked her and I could hardly tell. But in her Markell shoes her CF does look smaller. I hear Nordstroms sells different sized shoes. Let me rephrase that, I asked at Nordies and they told me I could get two different sizes no problem. Also StrideRite will do it for a fee I think? I'd go with Nordie's though. You can call any store and order over the phone too. They can also special order shoes from the mfr. I am pretty sure that if it comes down to it I will pay the extra to get good shoes at Nordie's rather than buying two pairs. Depending on the shoe (and sales) it probably is a wash as to price if not cheaper to just go to Nordie's (which I never shop at other than shoes - can't afford it!). I love those Robeez shoes. Darbi wears hers all the time. Since barefoot is supposed to be good for CF babies as well as non CF babies I will have her wear these a lot. They're really cute too! I have a plum pair on order from Nordie's. She has a lime green with white flowers that she's wearing now and they're sooooo cute! LMK about the shoes. If you think they will be too big get the 1's for sure. I'm kind of of the mind that for us (big foot babies) half sizes aren't large enough to wear in but we'll see when we get the 2.5's. I have this feeling we'll need a 3 sooner than later. Going up a whole or two whole sizes (if the 00 and 1's are two sizes apart instead of one) gives us enough time to break in the shoes. But with littler slower growing feet it may not be as important to go up a whole size each time. However it might if you have to pay for them yourself lol! Guest guest
Hindsight is 20/20. We never bought half sizes, but we bought every single whole size AND paid for them out of pocket. When Zoe was little and her feet were growing so rapidly, could probably have skipped a size once in awhile. I re-read Hall's article about using the FAB the other day, and I think she said that you can order 2 sizes bigger when it's time for a switch... Zoe seemed to be very sensitive about her toes being pinched as they grew closer to the opening. She would start having sleep disturbances, so I would change her shoes, and she would stop waking up. Her toes were at least a quarter of an inch from the end of the shoe... HOpe this helps!
