Guest guest
Speaking of Broccoli and Chemo and all that... I just got through talking to my older son . He is freaking out because I have chosen to do chemo again. Ok... here are my thoughts... I have done a massive dose of Xeloda 2500mg a day over a course of 2 12 week cycles... My biobsy and PET are NED/ ... Onc wants to do this FOLFOX because he is uncertain of the long term effect of 5FU in Xeloda compared to FOLFOX. Has anyone ever heard of just doing Oxiliplatin only? I agree with my son, in that I do not know why- other than my oncologist highly recommends I go through it all again with a Groshans port and direct line chemo. Guest guest
Jay, It is my understanding that oxaliplatin needs something else to work with it. In my case it was xeloda (like you). Karima

Guest guest
Hey, We all got to do something for excitment!!! How about something else that will give us the rush to scare us to death. Guest guest
You sure do have a tough decision with all this. You will have to do a lot of soul searching on this. I don't understand you having to take more of chemo either. But then the doctors are not doctors for nothing. So hard to decide if you really need more of this hell. Am Praying that God leads you into tthe right road. Best of all to you. Guest guest
I actually am (was) a pilot, so, hop in guys!!!! Uh, oh...haven't flown in about 18 years, though...but then again, even if you guys jump into the plane with me, then jump out again at about 15,000 feet, it STILL won't be TOO much more hazardous than what we are all going through, no??? Hi Jay... do you mean Oxaliplatin w/o 5FU or Xeloda?? Allllll by itself?? Always heard of it given with other DRANO, like 5FU, Xeloda, etc. Might ask tho. If I trusted my dr., I might go along with him. If not, I would maybe get another opinion. Hell, I'm such a scaredy cat, I'd probably not even question my dr., esp. if I trusted him....LOL I would just absolutely dread the thought of more chemo, tho!!! Why is your son so against it?? B/c it made you sick?? Does he realize how often there are mets...how often it seems to " come back " ....etc. It's a tough call, Jay... we'll be praying for you to make the right decision for you. Guest guest
Thank YOU Cliff, I would love to get your wife involved into the critter collections. I started my neighbor next door into riding horses. She was using one of mine. Well her husband said she would never have a horse. Well needless to say she bought one last summer and kept it here. Named the horse Never since he did say she would never have one. Now they have addded a loafing shed. Fenced off a pasture. Aquired a round pen and on and on. Her husband is blaming me now for their added expenses. All I can say is that they have 16 acres and it is now being put to use. LOL Her husband always hated the flys that horse manure seems to attract. All I can say is wait till it really gets warm. They will have fly terminaters on thier shopping list as well. Another expense for poor old Joe to complain about. His wife is talking about getting a goat to companion her horse. So we will be going to the sale in a week. Wonder if her husband will ever talk to me again. LOL Then comes the million dollar truck to pull the million dollar horse trailer. Needless to say there are a lot of expenses Joe has not figured on yet. LOL Ingrid > > > OH, right!!!! > > > NOW I remember that feeling of panic, the rapid heartbeat, the > rush > > of > > > adrenalin.....as my wife slowly clears away the uneaten broccoli > > from the > > > plate in front of me...What a rush!!!! > > > > > > Not to mention the absolute exhiliration of lying in the sun, > naked > > of any > > > trace of.....SUNSCREEN!!!!! > > > > > > Now I understand... > > > > > > All the best, > > > Marty > > > > > >

Guest guest
Priscilla can I ask you a question about the blood test. My husband just finished his treatments, and I asked the Dr. about this. Told him we would be willing to pay for it if insurance would not. But he is saying that because it does not have all the " approvals " he could not do any scans or start any treatments based on it. I was determined my husband would get it at least yearly, but would it do any good to know if nothing is going to be done. Hopefully you can give me some information that would help. Thanks, Ann Re: How much will Chemo Help? > > > > > > > > > > But lots more fun, huh, Jolene??? > > > > > > Donelle > > Caregiver to Glenn > > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 4/26/2005 9:07:14 A.M.
