Guest guest
I use Persona (I was on the original trial for 2 years before it went on the market) and mine always goes red on day 6 or 7. as a normally don't ovulate until day 12/13 this would suggest to me that it does. > Angi said > >from what I;ve heard, Persona doesn;t seem to take into account that > sperm can live up to 5 days in the right conditions, and so if you > have sex 5 days before you ovulate there is quite a high chance that > the Marathon runner sperm are still around!< > > Yeah and what kind of persistent, energetic offspring would they produce > too? > > > Feeling decidedly lethargic in the face of tomorrow's (??) Guest guest
Please explain to an old idiot what persona actually is? Is it one of those " rhythm method " ovulation temperature taking thingeys? Ruthie

Guest guest
To whoever wanted to know (I think it was Ruthie). Persona is a small machine which supposedly calculates your cycle. You have to purchase sticks which you then have to urinate on (excuse the graphic details) every day. These are put in the machine which " reads " them. You either get a red or green light. Red obviously means danger! To start with you get an awful lot of red lights, but as the machine begins to know your cycle, you get less and less although you still get quite a few mid month (I used to get about 10). It seemed to me at the time a perfect alternative to other means of contraception, until I got pregnant of course Lorraine, Mum to: 10, Natasha 8, 5, ph nearly

Guest guest
Thanks Lorraine for the excellent description. Sounds like my idea of a nightmare! When I needed contraception, I wanted to be absolutely safe. From what all of you are saying it sounds like the failure rate is very high. Guest guest
I thought the failure rate was no worse than with condoms? As long as you do follow the red light... :-)) Caro Thought condoms was also 94% proof (as it were) From what all of you are saying it sounds like the failure rate is very high.
