How about pulse? My whole set is lower than it should be..AND I think this has a lot to do with why I'm a bit (watery) right now. I have finally got straightened out from the silly mistakes I made last month..so I expect I'll be getting better this next month. ~E:) ~EG Connecticut T-T 27 months ago - 58.03 mcg Synthetic plus 112.5 mg Armour = 198.63 mcgs RATIO: 88 % T4 / 12% T3 Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi E, Thanks for the info on Selenium. I will try adding that first and then go from there. Do you really gain weight as easily as you joke? I know I do! I.e. Getting fatter from having sugar in a cup of tea – a bit of an exaggeration but on track for getting the idea! So for this week, I will try a bit less fruit and add Selenium and see if things improve in the weeks to come... Sorry about those migraines — just reading your words brings back the painful memories... I wonder (gratefeully!) why mine stopped... The only huge change I made was adding the T3 to my drug intake... Sue jytdtp wrote: My basals are 98.2 average and 98.5 to 98.9 during the day.. Pulse is 65 to 70. Sue: I believe the proper selenium number is 200 mgs daily. I have seen two forms. Yeast Free and the kind with yeast. Some will swear that the kind with yeast is better, others say it doesn't matter. I don't have an opinion. I would try to go with what will agree with my super-sensitive tummy if I were to pick one. Right now..it seems as the kind with yeast doesn't agree with me. At present I'm not taking any. The thing that is good here...is that your temps are in good shape...and your pulse is okay. Mine is a bit higher...but I have a feeling that it needs to be until I get better recovery. My basals have dipped, since the snafu last month. It seems to take a while for things to straighten out one we go off the reservation. I should think that you can even try to take some t2. Its available on some body building sites. NOW...I'm not recomending...I'm just saying that this is an option. Body builders use it to shrink down their fat just before competition so they can get that " cut " look. I would want to keep the tweaking up as you currently do and take the selenium and maybe even a gentle herb like ginseng or something...BEFORE starting to add in some Armour if you think maybe you want to take a run at that sometime. Naturally those kinds of things need to be done one at a time. If you mix...you never know what is causing what and just the entangling can take a while. If you keep trying...just one little change at a time, giving everything a fair run, I'm postitive you will get the results you want. Funny how Armour makes one eat like a pig..... I know when I get a little higher with my dose...I eat like crazy and I LOSE the weight. I see a lot of all synthetic taking people struggling with weight...but I am not sure one can't drop the pounds with the synthetic. We can keep working on this... I'm a little heavier today, since I put some sugar in my tea yesterday. It was my old Ma's birthday and I had to celebrate. Can you believe she is seventy now!!? I am so wrankled by this migraine, that I just let my cares fly out the window. I think with my temps lilted, I probably could have just breathed and gained anyway. I'm gonna try to be good today though! ~E:) .. ~EG Connecticut T-T 27 months ago - 58.92 mcg Synthetic plus 116.25 mg Armour = 203.96 mcgs RATIO: 88 % T4 / 12% T3 Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Hi E, Almonds, yep already “do” those I have done So much research, talking about this with friends and doctors, etc... That it’s NUTTY! How tall are you? What is GERD? Somehow, I don’t think ALL my issues ARE thyroid related in that there are TONS of overweight people who don’t have hypo... But then, they don’t eat healthy as I do maybe? I won’t weigh myself everyday — it set the mood for me for the day and I had to stop that right off! I bloat up during my cycle and after carbs so any weight I would lose would bounce back. When I started on T3 in April I warmed up and dropped a few pounds with no dietary changes... I got “confident” and went back to eating carbs — not a lot but just “regular” carbs vs though low glycemic ones and the weight came back on— weird and frustrating. Fruits? Yep, I have the list of high, medium and low — I really think I am gonna have to go back to low glycemic carbs only — I will do that in a week or so after I adjust to the Selenium. Is there no relief for Migraines for you? Books: I have a stack to read and a stack to re-read! Sue jytdtp wrote: Hi E, Thanks for the info on Selenium. Sorry about those migraines ˜ just reading your words brings back the painful memories... I wonder (gratefeully!) why mine stopped... The only huge change I made was adding the T3 to my drug intake... Sue _____________________________________________________________ Sue: YES...that's good. You are gonna try the selenium. You'll find its pretty cheap and its worth checking out. Almonds are also good, but I'd make sure I bought ones that are not in a see-through bag where the light hinders the integrity. You know that some fruit has a higher gycemic index? I try to eat berries and melon only. When I eat a banana, I only eat about a quarter of it. ITS perfect for shakes. I weigh myself every day. Have the scale in the kitchen and while I'm still in my skivvies, I jump on. I have the one that tell you... 104.2. I needed the extra digits. I have a card stuck on the fridge where I log it. I find that when I have more thryoid on board, the little cheating things I do don't have a much impact as when the thryoid is lower. I see the pulse go down, the temp go down and the weight go up. I think enzymes, temp and good thyroid replacement are REALLY key. I read somewhere that there are like SIX T2's and maybe 11 T's all together. Who really knows for sure.????, but I figure if you can create the right environment, you can get them all doing their job and you can benefit greatly. I do wonder if the synthetic T's, like baby formula has a built in disadvantage to splitting down to all the right stuff in the right amounts for optimal metabolism. They still haven't told us HOW much of whatever the gland makes...has an impact. I know that WE do make a whole bunch of t's and selenium in our thryoids. When one replaces only the t4....its leaves many people still messed up pretty bad. I think the move on your part to add in that T3 WAS very important. In my own case, I have to keep trying this and trying that so I can learn. My own stupidity and lack of attention has made it hard for me to get my formula right. Of course, I'm only doing this myself now for ten months... and coming from A very bad place, so I figure I can keep my chin up and be happy with my progress. This migraine is OVERLY aggresssive if you ask me.. I have had it now going on 4 weeks. I know what caused it, but I don't want to put my formula back the way it was before I got the migraine because at that time I had other issues. Those isssues were bad enough that I don't want them back. So....I'm trying to go slow and slink toward that protocol with a little change that will kill the migraines, the GERD, and energy deficit all at the same time. A going for a bulls-eye. I figure, I'll gradually get better as the weeks come by. I know that the worst of the migraine thing is over, but it makes for a difficult time since the brutal nature of it has gone on soooo long. As you say...t3 and the brain. VERY important. I'm trying to pull up my t3 a little to see how that will sit. I have come to beleive, both the t3 and the t4 have a role to play in the brain, and you could say there are probably other t2 that have a job to do their as well. I have some books I want to read, but I have to put them aside for now. ~E:)

Guest guest
Having been the one with the bleeding ulcer... then YEARS of GERD and reflux.... and having been the one drug out from behind the door by a cop at the auto show for sucking my Maalox out of a brown paper bag........ antacids make things worse in the long run.... counteract the thyroid hormones you are taking...... and... well... not the best route... I was on blender food for two years... then years of no fruit... no citrus or grape juice... no pizza or anything with tomato... the list goes on and on.... I went to bed at night with a sheet thrown over the top of the bedding and a bucket next to the bed... so that when I woke up puking my guts out the spray hit the sheet until I could roll over and finish puking in the bucket... then I just had to launder the sheet instead of the bedspread and blankets.... As the years went by I learned not to swallow anything but water for the five to six hours before bed.... to eat anything that MIGHT be irritating before noon or not at all.... It's hard to date when you can't eat in the evening... heck... hard to even chum with friends... family gatherings... most of the stuff I couldn't eat, and if the meal was served to late I either couldn't eat or just planned on not laying down that night.... I learned though.... learned the lesson well... how well? I had a bun with crunchy peanut butter on it IN BED and then rolled over and went to sleep a few nights ago... My meals this weekend, the rice stoup, included garlic and cayenne pepper.... I've even eaten pizza and spaghetti just before bed... I don't have a sheet on top of the bed.. haven't for just about three years... no bucket on the floor next to the bed either.... I do NO antacids, I eat mini meals, I got my thyroid levels better.... I can eat oranges!!! I can drink orange juice! I can eat pepperoni pizza! I can eat chocolate, french fries, potato chips WITH onion dip! No heart burn... no gerd... no reflux.... and none of the ulcer pains that I had since I was 20 (I just turned 49). The one HUGE thing that made the biggest difference was switching to mini meals... My meals are usually 1 to 1 1/2 cups in volume and I eat about every 3 hours.... I think part if it has to do with no longer causing the stress and strain to that sphincter muscle and the little flap that closes the stomach contents off from the esophagus... it's that flap giving way that allows stomach contents to back up.. and it's the acid in the stomach that causes the pain and damage... I've actually had burns in the back of my mouth from ralphing that stuff up.. that's how bad I was.. .that much coming up, and that often.. that it was still potent enough to burn my mouth. Not any more.... Topper () On Mon, 7 Aug 2006 14:35:07 -0400 "Willyorca" writes: What is the treatment for GERD?////////// For me-Nexium....
