Guest guest
My mom is 84 too, since she was 80 she's pancreatitus, her gall bladder removed, amoved and each surgery had pulmonary embolisms and was in intensive care. She had a heart cathetar in the spring and was admitted to intensive care with breathing problems. She's on chemo since last October. We thought 3 times also we were going to lose her, we now think she has 9 lives, she keeps making a comeback. unter528hunter@...> wrote:My Mom is 84. With so many different ailments. As for the surgery... It may be her only option. Without it she may have more problems. Getting a second opinion might be the way to go. I am Praying for her as well as you who must be strong. Guest guest
Thank you Ingrid and Lori. We saw the oncologist yesterday and scheduled the Upper GI with a scope to get the biopsy of her stomach. This Tuesday she is scheduled for a CT scan to see what changes are going on in the liver. The oncologist describes the cancer in her liver as " simmering " at this point. Since we have only been focused on the liver we thought things were going along as best as they could. Now, with this new development in the stomach, the oncologist seems to want to move a little faster on tests, etc. If the biopsy comes back positive, he will probably refer us to a surgeon to see if it's an option. Then I guess we have to weigh the risks. This has been a rough week, trying to keep my mom eating, sleeping, taking her medication, etc. Last night she had some confusion, was getting very agitated and neither of us got any sleep. This is so trying, I want so much for her to have a nice mother's day.....
