Guest guest
Well, - I've had a rocky road of late.... I started following the WW plan on my own in November of 2002 at 281 pounds (my all-time high had been 300 pounds, and I'd lost a lot of weight previously on at least 3 occasions, but always regained). After 3 months, I was at 271 pounds. then I got serious. When I signed up with WW (again, not my first time) in Mid March 2003, I was at 255. I got all the way down to 180.2 by the end of January - not yet at goal - but getting close - then, with 100 pounds lost - I fell " off the wagon " . I've continued to exercise (although not as religiously) and I've been On-Program-Off-Program-On-Program- Off-Program over-and -over here these last 5 months (to the tune of a 20+ pound gain. Amazing how much more easily those pounds come on then go off.). The last couple of weeks, I've finally screwed my head back on straight and gotten 100% back on plan and exercise routine - and the weight is creeping back down. I'm definitely not going to give up the investment in all the new clothes I've purchased :-). Athletic? That's definitely not a term I ever think of when describing myself. I think of athletes as those with sculpted bodies who are good at all the athletic endeavors they persue. Me? Yes, a lot thinner then I used to be, but definitely not sculpted. That's OK. I'm not out there to compete, just to have fun. I've always enjoyed cycling - even when I was heavier. But now it's a lot easier - at 280 pounds, I could do maybe a 15 mile ride and then another one later in the week To do back-to-back-to-back 20 mile rides and then a long treadmill session the next day and then a 30 mile ride the next day would have been impossible. I've recently taken up running (a little bit) - and finished 2 5K's - slow, but I finished. I'll continue to run - because it's less of a time committment then cycling (it takes me an hour + on the bicycle to get the same benefit as 20-25 minutes of running), and the treadmill is my best alternative in the winter, and its' easier then transporting my bicycle on business trips, and its' good as a cross-training activty - but it's not my first love. I just love the feeling of being out there on 2 wheels. .... and yes, that's really my name, but its' the first time I've ever been described as a Rescue Ranger :-) Hope that answers your question. wrote: >OK Mitch, now I'll live vicariously through you AND Tory. > >:-) > >What are your stats?
