We used the memory foam and it really made a difference. Our

first two nights in the band were rough as well so I finally bought the memory

foam and my son slept so much better. I bought a twin size piece at

Target (usually on sale for around $40) and cut it down to fit the size of the

crib mattress. My son had his band during the summer so I dressed him in

a onsie shirt and a lightweight blanket. I also had a small fan attached

to the side of his crib. At this time of year, I would think that a

blanket sleeper would be enough to keep your son warm. Keep in mind that

babies hands usually feel cold even if they are warm enough.

Subject: [sPAM] question about pajamas for 6 mo old with

Starband

Hi,

I am new to the group and really appreciate this resource! We just

got a Starband from CIRS in Palo Alto for our 6 month old son. He

seems to be doing pretty well during the day, but last night was our

first night with it on, and we were awake MOST of the night. We tried

varying his layers, switching him from the crib to the swing, and

other various tactics. But he just seemed to be uncomfortable for

most of the night. I am wondering how much layering people do with

the pajamas. We keep the thermostat at 66 degrees and we normally but

on a blanket sleeper, a halo sleep sack and a blanket. Last night we

ended up removing the blanket and sleep sack. I just felt like his

head may be hot (it was still sweaty) but his body might be too cold??

I know I was under 4 blankets myself. Any ideas? How many layers do

people use in a similar temperature - 66 degrees? Also, do people

recommend the memory foam? The helmet just seems uncomfortable on the

neck...

Thanks so much!

Cheryl
