Guest guest
When air traveling, has anyone ever had to take off their child's shoes and DBB to pass through the security checkpoint at the airport? My child is in the DBB full time, so I can only imagine the scene we will cause if we are asked to take them off. cries and cries until we get them on and get her calmed down. I was just wondering what the experience of others has been. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hiya, Just got back from a short trip. (1.5hrs UK to Italy) and Long haul in Jan, California to Italy. both times they just scanned him with the wand and felt the bar. I didn't have to take it off. Although they had to pat me down as we set off the alarms as I had to hold him through the detecter. HTH Melitsa and Ridley 13mtns DBB since Jan Little miracles happen everyday. > >Reply-To: nosurgery4clubfoot >To: nosurgery4clubfoot >Subject: Security Checkpoint with DBB >Date: Sun, 28 Mar 2004 15:04:51 -0000 > >When air traveling, has anyone ever had to take off their child's >shoes and DBB to pass through the security checkpoint at the airport? > >My child is in the DBB full time, so I can only imagine the scene we >will cause if we are asked to take them off. cries and cries >until we get them on and get her calmed down. > >I was just wondering what the experience of others has been. > >Thanks, > > > _________________________________________________________________ Use MSN Messenger to send music and pics to your friends http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger

Guest guest
Hi, We traveled with Baby Ian when he was 3 months old and was treated for clubfeet since day 2. Baby Ian was also very colicky at that time. We went on a couple trips. It does depend on the airport. The alarms went off and they just patted us down and used a wand. Baby Ian cried at the time and made a scene at the airport. It was actually a very stressful situation b/c everyone stared at us. The second trip was worst b/c they made us take off his shoes and run it through the scanner. What we decided to do was to save the hour that he could take his shoes off -instead of bathtime. We took the shoe off in the bathroom before going into security. Then we just put the shoes in our bags and let it go through the scanner. We then took the baby to the bathroom or a quiet corner and put his shoes back on. Hope this helps and good luck! Liz Melitsa Avila strelladog@...> wrote: Hiya, Just got back from a short trip. Guest guest
We travelled from UK to Spain return just a couple of weeks ago and we had no problems at all. Security did have a feel around in the pram and gave a body search but didn't ask for the boots to be removed. Guest guest
We went to the airport to pick up relatives while Jake was in the DBB...we went thru the security checkpoint and of course he set off the alarms. Rather than having us take the shoes off, the security guard used a hand-scanner to scan his entire body and of course found that it was the bar setting the alarms off. Hope this helps! Guest guest
I did similar going to Iowa ... just left the shoes in the carry on bag. They had us set to search anyway because of all the medical crud we had with us, so it was easier for them to deal with packing and unpacking the carry on (especially since they had to anyway because of the epi-pens, inhalers, and other meds). That way I just got to sit back in the chair and laugh at their attempts to get everything back into the bag the way I had it! hehe Angel Security Checkpoint with DBB >Date: Sun, 28 Mar 2004 15:04:51 -0000 > >When air traveling, has anyone ever had to take off their child's >shoes and DBB to pass through the security checkpoint at the airport? > >My child is in the DBB full time, so I can only imagine the scene we >will cause if we are asked to take them off. cries and cries >until we get them on and get her calmed down. > >I was just wondering what the experience of others has been. > >Thanks, > > > _________________________________________________________________ Use MSN Messenger to send music and pics to your friends http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger
