Hello All,

Sorry so long since update. I hope everyone is coping well. Merideth, sorry

about another round of casts. Angel best of luck with the mold. Trent goes for

8 week f/u visit this Friday.

I think he has been doing okay. There is still a crease on the bottom of his

right foot and both feet are fat and the big toes on both feet turn up. But I

don't see much difference in the two feet other than the right is a bit

shorter and has the crease. We have not had blisters lately and have been able

to

give up using the corn pads. But the problem I am having lately is he kicks out

of his shoes at daycare and they can't get them back on. I hate to try to get

them in the tighter holes because I think that is why we had blisters, I had

them too tight. He doesn't kick out while he is sleeping. But over the last

week his # of hours in brace is closer to 13-14 rather than 16. I am hoping that

MD says 12 hrs okay.

I do have concerns about the plantaris though just because the crease has

never been gone. I hope MD feels everything is okay. He is 7 months now and has

almost mastered sitting up on his own. Best wishes to all!

You are using the Markell shoes with Trent, correct? If so, I suggest getting

ahold of Dr. Ponseti and seeing about getting the shoes from that

were designed for plantaris since they should both stay on his foot and help to

correct it more if it needs it. You should be able to e-mail him and tell him

the problem, then he will give you the contact info for and tell that

you need the shoes. says they have really helped Sadie's feet, and that

her feet look better than they did even after her last casting (Sadie has

bilateral plantaris).

Good luck to you and Trent!

Angel

Hi,

Just wanted to let all of you know that my son, Baby Ian have been

using 's shoes for the last 2 months and they work

great!! Ian is now 7 months and was using the Markell boots for 3

months prior to the new sandals. The new sandals only weigh 10

ounces which is much lighter than Markell's boots. The sandals looks

like Birkenstocks and is made of suede. There are no shoe laces but

only 3 buckles that fit nicely. Also, there are 2 little holes near

the heel that are open which helps us stick our pinky finger into the

whole to make sure Ian's feet is secured down properly. Ian has never

had any blister because the leather are so soft. If anyone would

like to see a picture of the sandal, please let me know your personal

address and I can send an image to you. just started

making these shoes. 's contact # is 888-6553-1087.

I am so thankful for these new shoes designed and Dr. Ponsetti

is trying to spread the word out to everyone that these shoes are

much better than the Markell boots.

My son wore the Markell boots and had a problem on his heel slipping

and sliding all the time. We were really frustrated since we could

not see how his foot was positioned inside the shoe. I hope this

helps.
