First, let me say I am sorry I never got back to say what was going on after

Kai's first cast slipped. On close examination (with instruction from the cast

tech) we determined that it was normal forward slippage (normal for a knee

length cast) and the the heel was still in the heel pocket, all being fine.

he went on to have the second cast, and when I took it off his foot was quite

beautiful, although there was still a bit of residual cavus. I took the cast

off the night before our appointment and put the DBB on for that night. When I

took it off the next day, a fair amount of ground had been lost, sad to say.

SO, I told Dr Mosca the sittuation, and it has been decided that Kai will

continue on in casts until such time as can make and send a brace

for Kai.

The problem with that is that doe not have any shoes large enough for Kai,

and he does not have a patern for larger shoes. This being the case, I am not

sure how to proceed. I am hoping against hope that Chelsea's feet are very

close in size to Kai's and that when she is in IC, he can measure and make a

new, larger shoe from her foot dimensions. If not, we may have to take Kai on

what will ammount to a day trip to IC so that can do the measurements from

his feet.

Hi Angel,

We took impressions of Sadie feet and sent molds to mitchell.

He was able to make Sadies shoes from the molds. We would be happy to

make some of Kia's feet. Ask if that would work. We love s

shoes. Sadie's feet do not slip at all and they have held the

corection well. Her feet seem to have iomproved in the Dbb he

designed. Sadie is in it 20-23 hours a day and that is starting to

get to me. She is 10mo and has been in cast or full time DBB since

birth. Frustated, but know its for the best. I just wanted to vent:-)

Hi Angel,

We had measure Chelsea's foot, but her feet are very

small. She hasn't really grown out of her first

shoes. She will need new shoes in about a month. Her feet are < 4

inches long and < 2 inches wide. She is just a very small little

girl. She is just 18 lbs - even though she is 13.5 months old.

Can't you just trace the bottom of Kai's feet and send them to ?

It seems like a long way to go to measure Kai's feet!

,

We have been told that will be making the shoes for as well. How

much more expensive are they and how did you make the molds?

I am glad you are getting s shoes they are wonderful! I wish

everyone could get a pair. We made molds of Sadies feet from

algenate, a dental materiial. Talk to about the price. Last I

heard he was making field prototype and figuring out price.
