Guest guest
Hi there, That's a really good question, you have to think twice about a lot of baby gear when you go into a DBB. My son had two different car seats (we have 2 cars, and had an overly generous baby shower). He had a regular " handle over the top " car seat that goes to 22 pounds, this one was a tight fit so we didn't use it too much. It was okay but I think it put a bit of pressure on his ankles. The other seat was one of those " 3 stage convertable " ones, this one was quite a bit wider so it was perfect, plus they go right up to an 80 lb booster seat. I did however end up taking the handle one out with us a lot when Ben was really little. That way he could sit in it in restaurants and when I needed a shopping cart. High chairs were a problem especially in restaurants, most of them have the between the legs part joined right onto the tray support. We hunted and found a fisher price one that just had a bump in the middle. I also wanted Ben to be able to sit in his " exer-saucer " . I ended up cutting the seat right between the legs and putting some really wide velcro in. It worked just fine and I think that the bouncing was probably quite good for his clubfoot leg. Sorry to ramble on, I just remember stewing about all those things and how annoying it was to suddenly realise that " Hey...he can't sit there!!!! " Ben is down to nights and naptimes now, and I can't tell you what a joy it is to put him in a shopping cart and see those little feet dangling there!! It won't be long and you'll be there too! Guest guest
Ruth and Group, Thank you for the advice below. We had our first night of DBB and Cole did well. I have no idea if we are putting his shoes on correctly but we are trying. The socks I bought are thin but the correct size, I have ones from Old Navy but they are way too big right now. It seems very hard to find itty-bitty socks. Thanks for the thoughts about the high chair.....glad I haven't bought one yet. and baby Cole (bilateral clubfoot) At 11:30 PM 3/5/2004 +0000, you wrote: >Hi there, > >That's a really good question, you have to think twice about a lot of >baby gear when you go into a DBB. >My son had two different car seats (we have 2 cars, and had >an overly generous baby shower). Guest guest
Hi , is at the same stage (bilateral clubfoot) - 3mos and just in DBBs (as of Monday last week). We're in the UK. We chose our car seat because it was wider and anyway as it turned out it was the only one which would go into by mine and my hubby's car. We have a Mamas and Papas http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/ primo viaggio which I suspect you may not be able to get where you are. Anyway despite being an above average size baby the boots and bar have not proved a problem whether that will change in a month or two I'm not sure. Good luck > > > We are going for our first set of DBB Shoes today.
