Lois - What a struggle! I can't understand why the docs keep leaning towards a psychiatric diagnosis for Vicki unless they see something going that you're not picking up on. The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps her lab and other test results are coming back in the normal range so that they can't arrive at an easy "This must be....." sort of thing. While there are psychiatric diagnoses where the criteria involves somatic complaints that the body develops in response to emotional disturbance, I'm not hearing anything in your letter that points in that direction. Could it be that they are recommending psychiatric care because of her emotional response (e.g, depression and anxiety) to what her body is experiencing? In any event, my very best wishes to you and a warmly felt hope that everything will start to resolve. It must be so painful for you to watch your daughter going through all of this. BarbaraLois

Sent her home with a referal toa shrink.Also to take anitspamotic drug for bowel.Soif they thinks its totally mind over matter whyprescribe somthing?????I got her home and wow major spasm and nausea hitagin, she begged for a anti nausea injection took herto my GP, she gave her pain injection and antinauseavicki didnt respond as dr thought she would and

thendecided vicki needed to be admitted to a phsychospital.I picked vicki up and brought her home.If my GP had read the info she would know this is asign of rsd in the internal organs and she needs tochange from beta blockers to alpha blockers.I just couldnt deal with it this afternoon.I rang theshrink SJ has been seeing and told him what washappening we see him tomorrow, and he was reallyunderstanding as to how hard this is for all thefamily.I want to say to the hospital look at the info but i,mworried they will change everything and make her worseby saying no its not a chronic pain problem, butbehaviol.I went down this road 3 years ago.We spent 2years in mentle health she was discharged and drs weretold her pain was making her depressed not the otherway round.I couldnt going through that again.Vicki is at breaking point only because they wont dosomthign for pain.She said this is not the way
