I have a very large fibroid apparantly the size of a grapefruit so I would imagine abdominal surgery will be necessary. I was wondering how much time I would need to take off work. Guest guest Posted December 1, 2003 Report Share Posted December 1, 2003 Hi Sue, I had an abdominal myo two weeks ago, and I can honestly say that I am feeling very well. The first week is the hardest. I am planning on going back to work after the third week, however I feel I could have gone back this week. I dare say I am quite bored. I am no longer taking any medication so driving will be ok. Of course my job is a desk job, which does not involve any heavy lifting or anything. I will be very careful not to over do it, and not to attempt anything which I have been told not to do, such as running, lifting, vacuuming etc. However sitting at a desk, typing away is ok.
