Guest guest
is *so* excited. The audiologist (also known as " Mr. Dale " ) got 's EduLink in after he'd left for the day Friday, so he spent today testing it out around their building. He said the sound quality is way beyond his expectations, and he really thinks we're going to have success with this. <crossing fingers> So. Mr. Dale headed over to school and met with and his teacher after school was done for the day. thinks that his teacher looks like one of the Wiggles when she's wearing the microphone - so he's decided that he now has a " Wiggly Radio " for his good ear. I love having a 7 year old! But seriously - was telling me all about the settings and how he gets to carry the microphone to his reading group leader for her to use during his reading group time - he thinks he's the big man on campus. I'll get to see it on him when we go to school in the morning. might even be explaining SNL to his class in terms that they understand: " Sound makes waves in the air - and those waves tickle the itty-bitty hairs in my good ear, and that tells my brain that there's noise. But when the waves touch the itty-bitty hears in my bad ear, they just *sit* there, and don't tell my brain anything, so I don't hear anything on that side. " (Imagine the added acting out of the tickling and such, and it's just hilarious.) I'll let you know how the EduLink works out. is definitely the first kid in our district to use one (and we have over 20000 children in our school district), so the audiologist is going to be watching him closely. Hoping that you're all having good evenings, Kris Mom to (7 y.o., Profound SNL, Left Ear) and Ethan (6 y.o., Hearing)
