Thanks for the clarification. So malt is not a " thing, " it is only a process.

When we talk

about malt vinegar then, it's really malted [wheat/barley/whatever] vinegar, is

that right?

It's amazing to me that that's not made more clear. It sounds like, eventually,

we could

have GF malt flavoring, GF malt vinegar, etc., maybe even GF malted milk balls!!

<gasp> gluten free malt balls <gasp>

oh my gosh, that sounds wonderful.... don't get me wrong

that is something I only crave about once a year or so, but

it seems that it falls under that " when you CAN'T have it..

you WANT it that much more " does this make sense?

It makes PERFECT sense to me!
