Guest guest
Good For You!!! Wow! Good Job, Beth! (I'd write that all in caps but the effect I'm trying for is big HOORAY for you!!) Guest guest
She's right! We do Disneyland three or four times a year, some years, and it isn't that bad. You just have to learn to find the deals. If you have a big family, renting a condo for a week is often the cheapest way to go as you can stock up on food from the grocery store and avoid all that expense (which is often the biggest expense). Guest guest
Beth ~ I'm sure that whatever you attempt you WILL be proficient at !!!!!!! You are a very special person who I know has many talents ~ some 'untapped' !!!!! You have a degree ~ that should be a plus (even though I know you usually need a master's in sociology to do anything in that field ~ sorry, don't mean to sound like a 'bummer' !!!! I'm a retired teacher working with first year teachers who graduated with a degree in another field and are working to be certified as a teacher ~ and I have a couple of them who have sociology degrees !!) Don't know if you're interested in teaching ????!!!!! AND don't feel 52 is too old to be a teacher or anything else !!!!! We've had some who are in their 40's and 50's ~ even a couple in their 60's !!!! Some of them didn't last though ! !!!! BUT back to you !!!!! What about something at your church or another church ?? You mentioned working on a Bible Study lesson ???!!!!!! I know some jobs just don't 'pop-up' but there's hope !!!!! Spread the word around !!!!! You can lead a Bible Study group so I know you can talk in front of others !!!!! Many jobs are not posted in papers ~ some just are 'there' !!!!! You can find them by word of mouth !! (I"m sure you already know this !!!!!) And your daughter is right ~ the battle is 90% mental !! So hold your head up high ~ don't worry about your weight (although I know this is easier said than done !!!!!). THINK POSITIVE !!!!!!! HAVE FAITH !!!! AND GREAT GOING by passing up the chocolate chips, Tostitos and Taco Cabana (wish we had one of those here ~ or I'm probably glad they don't !!!!!!) See, you're already off to a GREAT 2006 !!!!!! Can't remember where you live ~ but there are bound to be several possibilities out there for you !!!!! You are NOT too old and NOT too overweight !!!!!!! If you lived around here, you wouldn't have a problem getting a job !!!! Lots of job postings....some people never returned after the hurricane !!!!! AND I think others are just using up all of their unemployment benefits !!!! Will be praying for you !!!!!! Keep us posted !!!!! Hugs and blessings........ Randie Re: Beth and Janice the next line of this doesn't make sense. what i meant to say is that I am not proficient in anyone thing., not a whole lot of one thing well. BethBeth wrote: I am looking for one where I am not on my feet alot due to the back problems. I can do a lot of a little but a whole lot of one thing well. I have some schooling in accounting technology but no experience. I have customer service rep work experience. I have a bachelors in sociology but have never used the degree. My daughter said that the battle would be 90% mental and she is right. I am trying to build myself up to believe that someone would want to hire a 52 (almost 52 year old) who is overweight. Prayers will be greatly appreciated. thanks for asking, you are not being nosy at all!! Beth
