Rose welcome to the group. The drains can stay in from anywhere to 3 or 4 days

to a week to 10 days or so. All depends on how much drainage there is.

With a lumpectomy if they don't get clear margins then they go back in to be

sure they got it all. Sometimes women just decide on a mastectomy instead. I

will keep you in my prayers.

Hello Everaone

My name is Rose, I'm from Buffalo, NY. I was just diagnosed on

Haloween and had a lumpectomy last Wednesday. My question is are the

drain tubes suppose to stay in for a week?

Also, the doctor called on Friday to let me know I need more surgury.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Sincerely

Rose
