I am very happy with myself... I earned 53 activity points this week. That

is so good for me... because BEFORE WW I would not lift a finger to work

out. I hated to work out.

I still don't like it very much, but I'm trying.

Do you think that you, or someone, can explain activity points and how they

work? Thanks!! And great on being so active! I'm still trying to get into a

routine with my workouts, but I know I feel better the days I do SOMETHING

rather than NOTHING! =)

I use WW online. They (online program) keep track of my activity points.

I'm not REAL sure how they are figured. BUT I tread/run fast in the water

everyday. Usually for 30minutes and 5points. Sometimes I go for 40 minutes

for 6points. Other times this week I have swam and walked. I'm not sure

how the program works when you go to meetings. But with the online, I enter

walking, it asks if I golfed, walked leisure, or walked fast. I pick the

type of walking and then enter a time. It spits out a number.

Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to this group, but I've been with Weight

Watchers on and off again since 1998. I started the program again in

Jan. after having DS (who is now 8 months); I gained 70 pounds w/ my son!

When I first joined the program (w/ 123Success - I think), we were

encouraged to exercise at least 20 minutes per day. Then, for every 20

minutes above that, you received 1 point. Then, with Winning Points,

the program was changed to allow you to receive 1 point for every 20

minutes of exercise, including the first 20 minutes. Currently, I use

the WWCalc program for the Palm (designed by Bob Withers) wherein your

activity points are calculated according to light (doesn't make you

sweat; can sing and talk; ex. stretching or walking at a leisurely

pace), moderate (sweat after 10 minutes of continuous exercise; breathe

often and deep, can talk but not sing; ex. walk at a face pace or

biking) and high intensity (sweat after several minutes of continuous

exercise; breathing is more rapid and deep; able to speak briefly, but

not hold a long conversation; ex. jogging, running, competitive swimming

or biking). I exercise on the elliptical every day for 35 to 45

minutes; I lift weights every other day for 10 to 15 minutes. I earn 3

activity points; I always use moderate b/c I'm always afraid to move up

to high, even though I know my exercise is at the high level.

Hope this helps. Sorry so long!
