Guest guest
I wrote recently about starting Lyrica, a new drug for neuropathic pain. Well, it's really helping me. The past two days I've been able to walk around, go to church, etc., for several hours before my feet began to bother me. By bedtime last night, they were getting worse, but I put them up & went right to sleep. For the last year or so, as soon as my feet touched the floor in the morning (or whenever I got up!), they hurt. So it's great to stand up & not hurt. The only side effects I've had are dry mouth (which I already had, but it's worse) and slight light headedness. On the first dose, that resolved after about 3 days; this is my 3rd day on the higher dose, so I'm hoping that it will also resolve. I'm going to call him & tell him that I want to just stay on this dose for awhile. I started at 150mg every night for a week, then morning & night for a week. Then I was supposed to go to 300mg twice a day. So I think I'll just stay at the 150 twice a day for now, since it's helping so much. Guest guest
Rose I am glad this new medication is working so well for you. I have not heard of it before but I know this kind of pain you are talking about with your feet and its awful. I agree with you about sticking to the lower dose if its helping, then if you find you need to go to the higher dose later you can always bump it up then. I might keep just keep my prescription at the higher dose though Rose and not say anything to the Dr if it were me though. That way, I would have the extra meds for down the road should an insurance issue arise or some other unforseen problem. Unless you are paying for them out of pocket yourself now I guess. Take care, Kim NS Moderator PS _ I am getting to watch the first show of the new season of House as I type this now!
