Guest guest
similar thing happened to me a few years ago and is documented in this group's files. In my case it was the doctor who told me that I would also feel better on speed (after I had told him that I felt better on thyroid meds) Lynda (in the UK) Re: Doctors!! I just about fell over today. The Endo called me to set up a sleep test at the Hospital! I don't have insurance, nor do I need this test. Then my Dr's nurse called me to just be nasty to me because I refused to go. I couldn't believe my ears!! She told me that Dr. Heavener is NOT going to give me any T3, period. She then made a remark to me that we would all like to pop some speed to get our housework done! SPEED??? I just want to be normal! I guess I will be looking for a new Dr., and probably self medicating myself.
Guest guest
Okay, I am just getting over the flu and just saw this thread. OMG!! What is it with the idiots? I had just about the same thing happen when my former endo's nurse called to tell me I was over medicated on 125mcg of $ynthroid. When I complained the my symptoms were not only not better, but much worse and I was still putting on weight and was sure I was NOT overmedicated but did indeed need more meds, she told me: " Well, we'd all like a boost to lose weight, just get up off your butt and move then you'll lose weight. And if you aren't feeling better then it's something you aren't doing right because your $ynthroid will make all your thyroid symptoms go away unless you aren't taking it right. " I thought, A Boost? I just wanted to feel better. And Not taking it right? What in the world was I supposed to be doing with it? Stuffing it up my arse? That's what led me to you guys and I am feeling TONS better since I educated myself and started on Armour and some supplements. Now.....if this darned flu would go away I'm sure I'd feel better yet! LOL!! Deb :-) Lynda wrote: similar thing happened to me a few years ago and is documented in this group's files. Guest guest
Yes you've got a right to do that in the editorial section of the newspaper. I suppose as a separate article too, even on the front page. Depends on if you can get anyone on the paper to help you with that. Sometimes that the hardest part...depending on how big a metropolis you live in, who the paper is controlled/owned by & how big a distribution it has. Good luck with it tho. I think it's a marvelous idea. More power to you! C Re: Doctors!! Ya know, I've never published anything at all, but I seriously feel like going to my local newspaper and seeing if they would accept an article about the cavalier attitudes of modern day doctors and how stupid they are, but how stupid they actually think their patients are to swallow this type of hogwash. I say newspaper because that is such an immediate one, without having to publish a book. Let them sue the heck out of me. What would they get in a court of law? An apology or retraction? No way! Money? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Can't get blood out of a turnip, which of course is an antithyroid, pun intended. The name of the article would be something like " Stupid things doctors say to their patients " . One reason is that I KNOW that our local doctors read the papers, and I would be grinning all the way to work, IF I even had a job when I got there, hehe. Guest guest
The fact is they have no right to talk to us that way at all. They will continue to do it as long as we allow it. They're supposed to be serving us, not insulting us, which is what they get amply overpaid for. So why should we citizens tolerate their insults & slurs against us? They need to be brought down a notch or two & eat some humble pie along with the rest of us, IMHO. They're aren't deities sitting on Mt. Olympus all high & mighty after all. Neither are any other government officials or other so-called " authority figures " . They're just humans no better, more worthy or valuable than the rest of us. Caroline Re: Doctors!! Hi everyone, I had to drag myself to work today. I clean houses with my sister, but I have recently given up many of them due to lack of energy. I am just amazed at the responses from my email, many of you have had similar things said to you. This is the first time that this has happened to me. What in the world gives them the right to talk to us that way? , I wish you would do an article on " Stupid things that Dr's say . . . . " . I'm sure everyone on this list can give you more then enough material for it!! They must be worried about JOB SECURITY!!! LOL Pretty soon, no one is going to trust any Doctors! I know I will do my homework and FIRST treat myself whenever possible. My son has a friend who's wife is a nurse, and she was in shock when I told her what the nurse said to me. I went to her house last night and she was looking up a lot of info for me. I think she knows more then my Dr. ever did! Thanks for all the support!!
