Ouch! When I was in the hospital back in September for a week, they had IV's

in both hands.... so when they needed to draw blood (3 times a day because I

was on blood thinners) they had to use my foot... talk about pain!! Yikes!

Anyway, I'm not sure of the Starbust suckers.... but I do know a Blow Pop is

1 point.... don't know if that helps.

I just gave blood for the medical class here in

school... I got a starburst sucker.. anyone know how

many points it would be? By the way... I got it done

in the back of my hand. It hurt so bad! I give blood

to the Red Cross all the time but I never have any

pain problems.... but they take it out of the inner

elbow... the back of the hand needle felt like fire.

I'm with you Tory.... I've had 3 open heart operations and I love anyone

who'll give blood.... My father never did.... he hates needles... but after

my first operation (when I was a year old) and I needed a transfusion.... he

started giving blood whenever he can....

Your phlebotomist needed more training. I've had it both ways and it didn't

hurt, and one time out of my arm it did. The needle wasn't positioned quite

right. Ugh!

2 points for the sucker. They're about 100 calories.

From someone who needed five pints of blood last year THANK

YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you've ever needed a transfusion, you just

have no idea how amazing it is to go from literally feeling like if you

close your eyes you may never open them again, to feeling like a new

person. Unfortunately I can't give blood, so I heart people who can!
