Hi everyone,

I have been on no-mail for a couple of months and just come back on

as I am getting close to my operation time. I have been so busy that

have not had time to read these messages, but now as I get closer I

have decided I better make some time and keep up with whats

happening!

Firstly a question to everyone - is anyone here a vegetarian? If so

what can/do you eat after having the band done. And how do you keep

your protien levels up?I have been a vegetarian since I was about 12

years old, I know most people think of vegetarians as being skinny

LOL. My main problem is bad eating habits (LOL Thats funny! If I had

good eating habits I most likely wouldn't be getting the banding

done!) I am very busy I run my own 7 day a week business as well as I

breed horses. Often I will get to 2pm in the afternoon and not have

even had a drink of water let alone anything to eat. Then I rush of

to work and by this time I am starving and eat anything I can get my

hands on! :-)

I read a few of the most recent posts and wanted to respond to the

mail about feeling guilty for having the band done. I am on a list

for my horses as well and on that list there are 2 ladies who have

had Gastric Bypass, the other people on the list describe them as

incredibly brave strong woman for having the courage to do something

positive to improve there quality of life. And when I meantioned to a

couple of them that I was having the banding done I got the same

response! My surgeon said that 90+% of people who lose weight go back

to being over weight and often put on more weight. Having the banding

done means we are determined that we are not going to be one of those

90+% but are going to keep it off.

I hope everyone is well, I dont have the time to read through all the

posts since I was last on so I hope I have not missed anything major.

Take care all

Carina
