I wrote to by email, but thought posting would also be a good

idea for other moms in the same situation:

Hi -

I don't have experience with the sleep positioners and memory foam

type things, so hopefully someone else can help you on that one. But

my son had torticollis too and the PT recommended the Noggin Nest by

Boppy, for use in his carseat, bouncey seat, or on the floor. It's

available at Target, Toys R Us, and Amazon.com. It just keeps the

back of their head from resting on the surface of whatever they are

Also, I did use the Bumbo Seat for my son as well, and that

definitely got him up off the floor more. It is only recommended for

3 months and up though, I believe (it's 3 or 4), and by that time,

my son's plagio was already at it's peak, but it's definitely an

alternative to laying on the floor all the time (though some babies

might enjoy it more than others).

Hi ,

We too are expecting baby 2. At my son's 18 month doctor's visit, I

asked about sleep positioners and our ped. didn't recommend them as

they heighten the risk for sids. He did say to alternate which way

the baby turns his head while sleeping and to be concious of how we

hold our baby so he's not always looking right or left or having

more pressure on one side or the other. Also, the Bumbo seat is

great but a baby has to be able to hold their head up (usually 3-4

months). I still may get a sleep positioner but I may just be more

stringent from the get go with the 2 things I said above. Good luck.
